I could make brunch on the 20th -- just a 30 mile Sunday drive.
Are the eggs benedict good?

Never mind -- don't eat that anymore.
Been 36 years since there last.

Ohh, thanks for posting. What a shame, Mrp Alert and I happened to be very briefly in town last weekend.

If anyone wants to coordinate a meet, I'll be happy to edit the appropriate posts.

I live in SoCal and didn’t even know the Proud Bird didn’t close.

Sweet Willie is having a get together this weekend and is considering the Proud Bird:

In fact, when he posted the Proud Bird as a potential venue I was going to chime in and mention the restaurant had closed but, uncharacteristically, I decided to “measure twice, cut once” and went online and was pleasantly surprised that the ol' bird flies still. As luck would have it, I have a conference to attend this weekend and even though it's local I don’t think I can sneak off to LAX for lunch. However, glad to know the Proud Bird is still open.

Thanks for letting folks know Jailer, our group ended up going to a $12.95 Champagne Indian brunch, quite a nice value.
