Meal #25 - Brunei

A few photos from our Brunei meal at Sanur back in December. There are no true Bruneian restaurants in the city, but a friend of a friend hails from Brunei and recommended this Malaysian/Indonesian spot that featured a few dishes common in the country.

Stingray

Beef Rendang

I'm available since Janice will be away with friends. After talking to thewayofthefuture at WineDo 7.5, she was interested in attending this dinner. Oh well.
I'm stag for the evening.

I'm quite tempted, but it's $135 r/t on Amtrak from my new home (or a 6.5-hour drive each way). Though I do have Avios and there is a nonstop PIT-LGA...

Hey,

Would it be possible to ensure some chicken/beef/vegetarian options at Mulan? I keep 'quasi' kosher and abstain from pork and shell fish.

The full menu will be available. This type of consideration is one of the reasons we opted against the banquet-style menu

Wouldn't it be something like 8K UR points transferred to Amtrak? Assuming you have the points to burn

No UR but I actually do have the Amtrak points. However, that's not a terribly good redemption value for them (compared to a cross-country sleeper), and given the schedule and time to get there, burning Avios is a better deal.

That said, thewayofthefuture is right. I've never had a 6-hour drive stop me from anything before, especially where I grew up out west. It just feels so...long...out here on the east coast...
