Not sure how late in the year you want to do it next year, but the last few year the Jehovah's witnesses have had Friday to Sunday conventions in downtown toledo that are are six weekends in a row. I am pretty sure they will be back in 2014. While it won't effect Mudhen's games, a lot of hotels are full downtown and downtown restaurants are a pain to get into while they are on their breaks as well as parking is a pain. I work downtown during the week and go to church downtown on Sundays and I can tell you there are a lot more people than usual when they are in town.

It's great for our local economy and it allows for a few downtown businesses that are closed weekends to be open for a few weekends every summer, but if the do is one of those weekends allow for extra time to find parking and I would allow for extra time for lunch or dinner since there will probably be a wait on a table.

The first weekend the JW's meet is the first weekend in July and I am pretty sure they are here for six weeks in a row.

good to know, I'm hoping the Toledo Do will be held in late April or early/mid May 2014 (not Memorial Day), so looks like that will be clear of the JW's gathering.most excellent^

Not sure if anyone stayed at the Best Western last year (was a Crowne Plaza the year before and has had several affiliations since it was built in the 80s) but it is now an independent hotel and I have heard some negative things about it lately, so I would recomend avoiding that hotel if out of town people have stayed there in the past.

There is a new Hampton and Holiday Inn express being buillt on Secor Road which is a great area and very convenient to a lot of things and the expressway but they aren't scheduled to open until July, 2014. A couple places to keep in mind if there is a 2015 do.

I'm surprised no one has responded yet.

I normally am out of town (not always the last weekend of June). Around May 10th and June 14th if it is those weekends and the do has stuff going on those Saturday's.

I definitely can do anything on May 11 and June 15 since I normally do things with the family on Mother's and Father's day.
