First Annual Non-Denominational Kosher Hannuka Do! NYC 11th December
This is it! The First Annual (and possibly Last Annual) Non-Denominational Kosher Hannuka Do!
It is open to theists of all religions, atheists, and agnostics. In other words:
It will be a 1 pm lunch, on Dec 11, which, by sheer coincidence, is not only my birthday but the day that I officially reach retirement age under Israeli law.
(Three days later I will continue my journey by heading to Las Vegas, where I will undoubtedly lose my life savings and be forced to go back to work.)
Place: Ben's Kosher Deli, 209 W. 38th St, Manhattan (this is between Fashion Ave/aka 7th Ave and 8th Ave).
Programs: AA Gold, DL Silver (FO), UA Premier Silver, BW Platinum, HH Gold

I appreciate that, but due to work and family commitments I usually only plan about a month in advance. I'm also looking at heading to Bahrain sometime in December and I'm not yet sure when it will be. I will do my best to make it though.

I'm NY based. Considering where Dec 11 falls on the lunar/Hebrew calendar I am going to endeavor to be in town. So, perhaps we can grab lunch along with some decent kosher wine in midtown.

A kosher deli sounds good to me and midtown is perfect. I will most likely be staying at a hotel on W 28th St and doing some shopping at FAO Schwarz (E 58th St) so anywhere between the two would work out well for me.
(Realizing that this is going to sound very odd, I will be going there -- in theory to buy a Channuka present for a 7-year-old Methodist blonde. No, I am not turning into a pedophile in my old age, nor getting religions confused, but simply need an excuse to go into to the store to relive part of my childhood. Indeed, the bolded words are my entire reason for going to New York.)
With reuvenh, you, and I we have three "definites" -- as soon as we get two more this turns into an official FT Do and gets listed in the Consolidated Do List thread.
Of course, we will have to figure out a name for it. Somehow, I suspect that most OmniLibs would not be running to attend a "Dovster Birthday Do", and you can't really have a "Pre-Christmas Do" in a kosher deli, but a "Non-Denominational Kosher Hannuka Do" might spin a few dreidls.
Location: JFK,ATL,LGA (the rest of the world follows)
