Krakow DO - Aug 24/25/26 2012
Hi folks,
I met with Jason8612 recently in Krakow and we really enjoyed time there. That's why we decided to invite all FTer next year to Krakow to spend a great week-end in Poland together
here's what we have in mind (other than enjoying great food and drinks with FTer):
Friday 24th August, 2012
8:00PM-When we finish Evening Dinner at Pod Baranem - This will be the official opening for the Krakow FT DO! We will all get to finally meet each other and have a nice start to the Krakow weekend. There will be a set menu to choose from. With starters, main, and dessert being served.
Saturday 25th August, 2012
10:00AM-10:45AM Cafe Szał w Sukiennicach. - We will meet at the Cafe Szał for a coffee/tea/juice in the morning before we start our fun filled day! 11:00AM Krakow tour
Krakow in a day tour (3.5hrs)
3:00PM - 6:00PM Free time - Time for you to relax, to get in some more site-seeing, or whatever your heart desires! I can recommend some options if you like. 6:00PM - 7:00PM Tram tour of the city on the Cafe Tram. - A private ride on the tram, showing us historic points of Krakow. We will be able to have a drink, and start the evening. 7:15PM (depending on tram’s arrival) - Dinner. A private dinner in the old town. Chefs will prepare Polish style multiple course dinner. Price includes food, water, tea/coffee, tip. Other beverages will be individual bills. After dinner, there will be an option to go out for a few more drinks.
Sunday 26th August, 2012
10:00AM - 12:30PM Sunday Breakfast. Depending on the venue we can arrange, it will be some sort of brunch (12€ average) 12:30PM/1:00PM Two Tour Options
Auschwitz tour (6hrs)
Wieliczka Salt Mine (4hrs)
8:30PM dinner on your own, meet later for drinks

Details: All of Saturday events are packaged. Price is 360PLN (approx 85€ or $105). Friday and Sunday options are recommended, but are optional (Friday dinner is set at 130PLN, and Sunday tour is 130PLN). There is a limited spots of 30 people. If needed, a waiting list will be made. A non-refundable Saturday payment is needed to confirm the spot. Payment details will be send via PM. If you want to buy an airline ticket before - contact us for payment details and we can guarantee you a seat on this tour.
Payment must be completed by 30 June, 2012 - that day we start to clear the waitlist.
For those coming in earlier on Friday (or earlier) and/or staying Later on Monday (or much later) there will be options available, from bike tours to an aviation museum to out of Krakow tours (Zakopane).
Venues are subject to change. If there are any dietary restrictions, it must be known in advance.

Krakow in a day - This tour will cover the Old Town, Jewish Quarter, Ghetto, and Schindler's factory. It will be done by electric cars with a private guide (English). This tour has the Schindler's factory and visitng multimedia exhibition of holocaust history. It will cover the Jewish quarters with synagogues and the old town similar to the old town tour above. approx 3.5hrs
Sun Tours
Auschwitz tour - This tour will cover Auschwitz. Auschwitz Birkenau was the biggest system of concentration and extermination camps that operated during II Wold War, nowadays being well known place as symbol of Holocaust and genocide.
Today area of former death camps functions as museum and memorial devoted to over 1,5 milion victims murdered by Nazis in Holocaust process, it is also only such place inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List. approx 6hrs.

just be aware that the saltmine tour on sunday (its a UNESCO world heritage site since 1978 btw) involves at least 64 steps when going down ... you've been warned (elevator at the end of the tour) but even famous people like Chopin, Goethe and Balzak went there ... so you'd be in good company.
not to mention I went there
It is a bit of some physical work, as not only there are stairs, there is plenty of walking.
