WineDo 4 - Sunday June 5, 2011 NYC - Tribeca - post BRT

4th annual WineDo.

Sunday June 5, 2011 at 6:00 (1800).

Cost $80.

Place: Tribeca Grill. TG is partially owned by Robert (you talkin to me) de Niro.

Address: 375 Greenwich St. at the corner of Franklin St.
phone 212.941.3900

By Subway

Take the number 1 local (this trains runs under 7th ave and Broadway) to Franklin Street, Walk two blocks west to Greenwich Street.

or

Take the A,C or E trains (8th ave train) to Canal. Exit onto West Broadway (south side of Canal Street). Walk two blocks south to Franklin, turn right and walk three blocks west to the corner of Greenwich Street.

Here's the thread from WineDo 3. Take a look/see so you can get in the mood. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...h-village.html

While the linked thread may look to some that we're bragging about what we own , the WineDo is open to everyone. The only qualification is that you have to bring a bottle of (drinkable) wine. Estimated cost of dinner is $75, which includes tax and tip. The majority of wine last year ranged anywhere from $25 - $200 bottle. Everyone stepped up. This dinner is a great way to taste and discuss wine, in addition to miles, points, and etc.

24 Flyertalkers attended last year... and we had 38 bottles. ^

You're expected to bring a wine that cost a minimum of $25, and a maximum of whatever you like.

We drank some great juice last year. I don't know how we can possibly top it. Flyertalkers never disappoint. If you're not a drinker, you're still invited. They sell beer and other beverages.

Our distinguised wine panel mjm, cordelli, and UCBeau will coordinate what's drinkable. Last year we enjoyed multiple bottles of red and white wine. We could use a nice champagne to start.

Can you join us?

So far: 21 on the way to a maximum of 24. We need a champagne or 2 to start.

We're going to raise the stakes for WineDo 5. Dinner will be wine themed, just like they do on the wine boards. @:-)
We can discuss a theme, and the cost of wine, sometime in the future.

You'll have your first Brazilian wine

I'm in! I'll bring a Brazilian garage wine just to kick the variety up a notch.

Yes please.

Don't know my essence of grassy apricots from notes of sour pine cones, so might need an assist with juice selection.

Assuming I'm in town that weekend (and yes, if you clear me for BRT11 I will definitely make sure to be in town!), count me in.

Since I have at least an outside chance to make it up for this dinner, I should now start following the thread so I will know when the declaration deadline is set.

For the moment, I would ask dhammer53 to please mark me down as possible.

Please add me to the list also. I'll have to buy vino locally but hope that isn't an issue.

So noted.

Let me know if you have any questions about the wine you're bringing.

We should not be so hard on him. He's from Brooklyn, after all.
