San Juan Puerto Rico Dinner Do - Sunday November 28

Fares to fly back on the Sunday after Thanksgiving were way too high for this flyer, so I'm heading back on Monday. Mrs Sweet Willie is on an award tick flying home on Sunday. So that leaves this Puerto Rican food loving gringo all alone on Sunday night, if any Flyertalkers happen to be around, I'd love to have dinner.

Anyone around Sunday November 28 in San Juan?

Also, it has been awhile since we've been to Puerto Rico (used to go at least once per year), so if anyone has some restaurant recs they could give, I'd be most appreciative.

Dining:
Willie
mkt

Restaurant Raices
Rincinto Sur Street #315 (across from Dona Fela parking lot)
Old San Juan

Further details/menu on their website: www.restauranteraices.com/English/index.html
Time: 6:30pm

I'll have my yellow FT luggage tag with me

On a side note, I'm having breakfast Monday morning Nov 29 at La Bombonera bakery on Calle San Francisco. FT'er mkt was nice enough to suggest this place in another thread. It is suggested to get a Mallorca which I shall do. Anyone is welcome to join^

We are booked, though I don't know if we'll do the trip (won't decide until September). We would also be returning on Monday.

Couldn't pass up a great $148/night rate @ the Ritz Carlton.

One of our favorite restaurants is AQUAVIVA. (absolutely love the swordfish chops)

If I'm in town, I'm in.

They're both there, but the one by La Concha moved across the street to the space formerly occupied by Diva's

However, with their liquor license, amended menus, and 24 hour operation; they are indeed the greatest Subways in the land.

I must admit I'm curious what an amended menu for Subway looks like in San Juan

Yes, almost exactly two years ago. That OpenSkies inaugural trip was a great experience.

SO is rather positive about this trip, so there is a good chance it will happen; we just tend to not be able to firm things up until a month or two before.

We are booked to arrive on the 24th, and depart on the 29th November.

They filed Chapter 11 today, so I don't know how that's going to affect their operations between now and November.

Late in the game, but put me down as "likely". Looks like the fare runs around $100 o/w from BDL. Where is this $140/nt Ritz-Carlton deal? I guess I missed it

Edited to add: Hyatt Hacienda del Mar has a room for as little as 119/night for this weekend.

Negotiated corporate rate; the SO travels often to San Juan on business.

added you to the list^

I love Hyatt but what I can gather from here and TA, it would appear wise to stay away from Hyatt in Puerto Rico.

I still don't know where I'm staying, have reservations at a few places for Sun night.
