Arrival and Departure times Flight From To Scheduled Actual Gate Status number LH 405 New York Frankfurt/Main 11:25 10:17 B25 On Schedule JFK Int'l International NY, USA Germany
You never know with FRAnkenstein. Early 744s get punished into the 'box' and then sent to the apron.

Everything coming from the States is ridiculously early today. I just did EWR-LHR in 5h39m, with speeds of 688mph.
Thankfully, LHR ATC allowed us to draw lovely circles and loops above Surrey and Kent, and made sure we were only 35 minutes early.
Just having porridge and golden syrup with a coffee in the BD lounge, then hopping on LH903 to FRA. See you at the Sheraton at 14:00.

I'm now lounging in the GVA lounge waiting for my FRA flight to board. Hope to see everyone soon and enjoy the festivities.

Not only does it have tail wind, it also got a more direkt route. Methinks LH wants to make sure all are sleepy tonite and don't ask pesky questions

Waiting to board LH941 from MAN. Was going to be a gate arrival (C05) but now changed to apron (and a limo ride) See you all soon!

And then we got to the arrivals lounge and someone (I'm looking at you, Tommy) had tripped the emergency door so many of us were locked outside for a few minutes while they reset it. Fortunately that didn't take long and we were soon inside enjoying pretzels & beer, the way every morning should start!
A couple photos/links that are fun...

I have arrived at the Sheraton in FRA.
No recognition of the promised Platinum Match recognition (I specifically asked the agent), got pretty much the same old room as last year (when I didn't have any SPG status), there's no free Internet (27 USD per day, a real bargain), no lounge access, no nothing. The complementary Gold status tI have received for being a journalist turns out to be utterly worthless, too.
Absolutely not at all impressed with SPG so far. Then again, I only clocked >200 nights with Marriott last year, so I guess SPG isn't that interested in making me a switching customer.

I got a gate too but it was a wrong kind of gate (A30). Since we arrived from non-Schengen we had to be bussed to B international arrivals. No sign of HON limo pickup. Made it to the Welcome Lounge for a quick bite to eat, though, before it closed.
Going downstairs in a few minutes.

Since every participant was promised a once in a lifetime Platinum status, there was no Marriott status to submit. In hindsight, I guess I should have asked for regular status match instead of trusting the Platinum offer associated with the SMD2. Of course I entered my SPG number into the SMD form provided by the Do organizers.
