WineDo 3 - Sunday June 13, 2010 New York City - Greenwich Village
3rd annual WineDo.
North Square
Date: June 13 Sunday. Edit >>> cost will be ~$81.
Time: 6:00pm
While the linked thread may look to some that we're bragging about what we own , the WineDo is open to everyone. The only qualification is that you have to bring a bottle of (drinkable) wine. Estimated cost of dinner is $72, which includes the corkage, tax and tip. The majority of wine last year ranged anywhere from $25 - $200 bottle. Almost everyone stepped up. This dinner is a great way to taste and discuss wine, in addition to miles, points, and etc.
You're expected to bring a wine that cost a minimum of $25, and a maximum of whatever you like.
We drank some great juice last year. I don't know how we can possibly top it. Flyertalkers never disappoint. If you're not a drinker, you're still invited. They sell beer and other beverages.
dhammer53, mjm, and UCBeau will coordinate what's drinkable. Last year we enjoyed multiple bottles of red wine. We could use some good white too, not to mention a champagne to start.
Can you join us?

Dinner at:
North Square
http://www.NorthSquareNY.com/
They did a nice job for us in April. They prepared a $55.00 3 course meal that included corkage and a pre-printed menu. Total with tax and tip ~ $72.
The first 2 WineDos were at Fairway. Cost was ~$55 - $60. North Square is a lot prettier, with much better food IMHO.
edit >>> actual cost will be closer to $81.
Here's the link from WineDo 2 from last year.

Busy weekend in June
Holy crap, Batman. What a busy weekend in NY!
Friday, 6/11, is Soup Do 7
Saturday, 6/12, is the 10th Annual BRT
Sunday, 6/13, is WineDo 3
Those who attend all three should get a special award! You guys are going to be tired. Wish I could attend.

I attended all three events (Soup Do, BRT, Wine Do) last year. Didn't make me especially tired.
Anyhow, Dan, I'm in. I will e-mail you privately about the wine selection.

Lets add the following:
2006 MacPhail Family Wines Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley)
and because like a good book, a bottle of wine is best when shared, some bubbly as well.
2005 Schramsberg Brut Rose

Update.
I have made a choice.
Langmeil 2008 Valley Floor Shiraz, currently in San Diego, thanks lili.
Now just to clear the waitlist.
Trying to decide the correct wine is going to be tough.
I did have 3 locations in mind:
A local Australian wine
A Barossa Valley wine, I am sure I can find something as part of http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...30-2010-a.html
I guess this means I need to check a bag. QF, AA and WN is ok but how am I going to fly on Delta without incurring bag fees. I like to mix up my flying a bit.

If you can grab it some Stefano Lubiana Tasmanain Pinot is awesome and then some.
Similarly from the Macedon Ranges the Curly Flat Chardonnay (2006) is a show stopper as well.

If violist is going than count us (JJ nd Mrs JJ) as a strong maybe.
I'm going to check with my sister and my niece to see if they would like
to join the crew. My sister hates to fly (you can keep her terrified with stories of minor flight "emergencies" you've been in) but likes wine.My niece doesn't get a chance to fly that often and also enjoys a glass.
