Costco Visa sign up bonus

I was thinking of signing up for the Costco Visa. Is this a good deal?

This has to be one of the best examples of consumer stupidity I've ever seen. Who would walk into a costco, go down the hardware aisle, and apply for a store CC just for an empty bucket? You can easily negotiate and also get the lid at the service desk.

On a serious note, has the Costco credit card historically ever had a sign-up bonus?

Not any significant bonus I can recall. They were Costco merchandises or some food item.

I got a $75 statement credit after spending $500, about 3 months before Amex lost the account to Citi. Maybe Amex was desperate at that point. @:-)

Costco Visa is extremely popular. I see people use it everywhere, that's why it's called Costco Anywhere. I know many people believe that only Costco Visa can be used at Costco, that's why they get one. Everybody has a Costco Visa, except me. Poor me!
Now I'm going to apply for a Costco Visa to get advantage of this great bucket deal! Wait, but I don't even have Costco membership anymore. Is it required? I regularly shop at Costco without membership, using Costco Cash cards.

I will pay for your Costco membership, but you will have to send me your Costco rebate each year. And I get the bucket, too.
