Citi Plat Select MC for use in South America?

I am trying to rationalize switching to a AA Citi Plat Sel MC product for business travel in South America. Am not too sure it's as readily accepted as Visa or Amex.
What has been your experience using a MC product in this part of the world?

In Argentina, which I visited late last year (and a few other times before), MC and Visa are fairly universal, much like here in the USA. Amex is also accepted in most places, at least in Buenos Aires.
Note that the Citi Plat Select MC has an FTF (the World Exec does not).

Tyou Mex Bra Chi Col. I hear u on the Select's FTF tyou for the heads up. Still need to do some research on the annual membership fees. Select's is 95 think, don't recall what Exec is.
