Complementary upgrade to Citi AAdvantage World Elite
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place or not.
I recently got the Citi AAdvantage World Mastercard, which had a spend bonus along with a couple of AAdmiral's Club passes and such.
Today, I received a new card with the exact same appearance and numbers of the old card (silver), but it said World Elite on the back. I called Citi and they said it was a complementary upgrade at no additional cost to me.
Looks like I get AAdmiral's Club access and such. I found info on their Executive World Elite card, which is apparently $450 per year, but I didn't see anything on this "non-Executive" World Elite Mastercard.
Anyone have any experience with this? Are the benefits the same as the Executive World Elite AAdvantage Mastercard? Thanks in AAdvance!

Complementary upgrade to Citi AAdvanage World Elite
I think that the upgrade to world MasterCard means you just get the benefits of a world MasterCard. Not necessarily the Executive MasterCard that yields access to the AC, but you get certain benefits for being a World MasterCard holder (see http://www.mastercard.us/credit-card-world.html).

In the AAdvantage product line, Citi has Gold, Platinum Select and Executive as product designations.
Mastercard has MasterCard, World MasterCard, and World Elite MasterCard as product designations. This is similar to how Visa has Visa Signature. It's simply a level of MasterCard associated with any product.
Citi's Executive card is only a World Elite card, as is the Prestige. However, it is possible to have other cards in the Citi portfolio as World or World Elite based on other conditions (credit limit, benefits, etc). This includes the Platinum Select AAdvantage card. You will notice that you now have improved benefits as being a World Elite MasterCard holder, but will not receive any of the benefits of the Citi Executive card.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Helpful link. The MC landing page above promotes that among the benefits of their "World Elite" branded cards are discounts and upgrades on selected airlines.
Dig a little deeper into the MC site, and it's soon apparent that AA does NOT offer any of those bennies to MC "World Elite" cardholders. And that the only airline that confers an upgrade is SR, buy Y, fly J.
