Citi Executive AA MasterCard [October 2013 - September 2014]

Apologies for this newbie question, but I'm trying to find out the safest day to apply for a 2nd Executive card.

I applied and was approved for my first Executive card on Monday (April 21st).

I've read the advice to wait 8 days before applying for a second Citibank card. That would be next Tuesday. But would it be safer to wait to apply for the 2nd card until Wednesday (April 30th)?

Wednesday would also be the last day of April, if that matters at all...

Quote: Hi guys, I am confused about how citi reset the 65 day rule.
1st AA Exe 01/30
Citi HH 02/13
2nd AA Exe 04/03
3rd AA Exe 04/13 (denied)

I believe the reason for my denial is that my Citi HH and my 3rd AA Exe are within 60 days. Do you guys have any idea when I can apply my next card? Is it going to be 60 days after 04/13 or 04/03? Thanks in advance.
Now I see why we cannot really fault Citi for not being able to count days.
Come on people...we all learned to count past 65 in kindergarten, or prior to school age if you had good parents. It really is NOT this hard
HINT: All months do not have 30 days in them

Use this.
It sounds like some people cancelling first then applying for a second or third card and some people are just waiting 8/65 days then applying WITHOUT cancelling the prior card. Is this correct?
OK, accidentally bought $5k of AMEX GC not realizing they would post as cash advance. Paid the piper and the cash advance fee. My mistake. However, I was counting on the $5k taking me over the $10k minimum spend. On my last statement they didn't give me points for the 'cash advance'. Does anyone know if this will count towards the minimum spend or not?
Miles just posted, what does

"CITI EXEC AA PURCH 2ND MI. BNS" mean? An extra 101.

Those are the 101 bonus miles for your AA purchases.

Right, those were the taxes on my award ticket to Costa Rica. Thanks!

They do NOT count towards minimum spend. I don't know of any Citi cc that doesn't post as CA if you purchase something from a financial institution.

In accordance with the T&C, cash advances are not purchases and do not count toward your 10K purchases required to get the bonus, nor do they earn miles on this or most other cards. ouch, 5K

This card does not post as a CA when purchasing Buxx reloads even though it codes as Financial Institution.

No, that would be closer to 90 days. Using the calculator from the Wiki, I come up with MAY 27. Since the official time frame we have been given for this offer to be open is thru May 31, you come in just under the deadline to apply again.
Before anyone jumps into the MANUFACTURED SPENDING waters he/she MUST do a lot of homework.
MS is NOT for the unprepared/disorganized and/or the faint of heart.

Also, since MS things change quickly sometimes, what was valid for MS last week may no longer be valid, and that'll cost you, you have to keep up with MS changing events.

If you have large bills coming up, like a couple of thousand for home insurance, medical insurance, real estate taxes, personal/business taxes, you can use them to meet your 10K. Keep in mind that most local governments will charge a surcharge for real estate tax payments by credit card so you have to factor this into your cost for the 100K miles.

Some people really got up on the wrong side of the bed today.

If you think a question is stupid, either answer it anyway, or just move on. Insults are uncalled for, and we all end up having to read them, which isn't pleasant for any of us.
