Yes, you should not have a problem with the old 18(ish) month rule on the 50K card linked in the Wiki and can apply for another in a week.

Which entry in the Wiki?

There appears to be about 100 entries, none of which seem appropriate.

Not trying to appear dumb, bit I'm getting nowhere going through them one at a time.

Edit: Wait ... are you talking about the longish post that appears as the first post on every page, or where I get to when I click on Flyertalk Wiki?

Again, seemingly dumb, but I've never run into a Wiki here before.

You can of course risk it and go for it now but if you plan another AOR then that would have to be pushed out.

I'm curious about the people here who have gotten two AA Visa cards in 8 days. I'd like to know if they had other cards along with the card #1 before waiting 8 days to apply for card #2.

If i got the 50k personal visa and amex about 6 months ago (both canceled already), should i go for the 40k mastercard or this 50k visa?

50K Visa. And in the interest of not getting flagged within the bank's system, do not close cards until ~1 month before the annual fee comes due OR the bank asks you to in order to open a new card.

Datapoint:

3/12/13: Citi AA 50k Platinum Visa
7/17/13: Citi AA 50k Platinum Visa

My first two Citi cards are exactly the same! Haha. I only got to step 3 and then had to call in to be approved for this one. And she had to move credit from my first card in order to approve me for this one. That being said, is it very likely I can get the card again in 8 days? My only other cards are:

Wells Fargo Visa: 8/2005
Kohls Visa: 1/2008
Barclays US Air Visa 40k: 4/30/2013

Barclays gave me 2 inquiries.. So i have a total of 4 pulls in 4 months. Not sure if any of that info is relative.. But with my relatively thin credit past and lower income, im wondering if it is likely i should try again in 8 days! Any help is appreciated! TIA!

That is so frustrating! I just was approved for my 2nd 50k Visa and asked again about having my card expedited. The rep told me that it is not possible to do so for the initial card on the account for security reasons. I asked if that was a new policy since i was able to receive my other card expedited and she said that it is. So to clarify i asked if I were to lose my first card if they would rush the replacement and they said they can do that.. So yeah, i agree with your disappointment! It should definitely be a standard service.

Just wanted to add that if you get denied for too many inquires, always write a reconsideration letter. I'm 2 for 2 in getting approved after being denied online or the phone but writing in within 30 days. Both times they called me one or two weeks after I sent the letter and actually asked meaningful questions about my inquiry history. Unlike their phone agents, whoever I spoke to had some power to make a decision. Both times approved, although for very small credit limits ^

Read recent posts in this thread. Myself, and at least one other, have reported on being approved after ~10 days for a second card. I have two other AA Citi cards from 3/2012, as well as 2 Citi HHonors cards.

To all those who applied for two cards in a 8-10 day span and got approved, did you do an AOR along with the first card? Or was it just the one AA card?

I'm planning to make this part of an AOR and though I'll definitely try it, I worry about being denied for the 2nd card due to too many inquiries.
