High speed rail to Guizhou!

The schedules of the first high speed railway to Guizhou have been disclosed. The high speed railway has been built from Guangzhou via Zhaoqing and Guilin to Guiyang.

The fastest D train Guangzhou-Guiyang seems to take 5:04. The fastest existing train Guangzhou-Guiyang seems to take 19:52.
The Guangzhou-Guiyang high speed railway is reputed to open on 26th of December, 2014. The second high speed railway to Guizhou is supposed to be Changsha-Huaihua-Guiyang high speed railway, to open in May 2015.

In Guizhou, earth is not flat for three li, heaven is not clear for three days, man does not have three cents. Is there anywhere worth going in Guizhou even if a high speed railway goes there?

Actually, yes there is. But not places for the inexperienced China traveler nor a non-Mandarin speaker, unless you have a guide.

+1

Guizhou is at times amazingly beautiful but large parts are fairly difficult to access and average incomes at the low end.

Think endless mountain roads through scattered villages and then arriving at the most majestetic lakeside you could imagine surrounded by rare flowers and plants.

Interesting observation. After you told us about the nn-sz train a few days ago, I tried to book it, but struck out, in spite of the fact that piecing the trip together with a change of trains in Gz is really easy. This made no sense to me.
