China Eastern Miles - Points Expiration Question

I have roughly 200K China Eastern points accumulated over the past 4 years. For some reason i've never received an expiration warning until now. My account summary page shows 24K points will "be expired within half a year from this very day."
Is there any way to extend the life of these miles or will I need to spend them before December/January? I called MU but they are unclear, as is the website.

IME, they tend to go "poof". I don't know of any Asian FFP where this isn't the case... except for maybe PR, now that I think about it.
