Why did O'Hare keep ORD?

Just curious if anyone knows why they kept the Orchard Field ID after the name of the airport became O'Hare.

I concur with DLSIZE.

Similar logic applies to Orlando still being MCO (as in McCoy AFB)

If Sioux City is stuck w/ SUX, Chicago is probably lucky to have ORD.
