New Churrascaria in Schaumburg

We went to the Brazil Express Churrasco Grill in Schaumburg yesterday.

It is a new restaurant and is gaining popularity.

I've been to many of the other Brazilian Churrascarias and it is the typical format.

While it is not as good as Fogo de Chão, it is still very good and also a very good value. The salad bar is a bit small. And with most of the Brazilian steakhouse restaurants, the meat is a bit on the salty side. But everything was extremely fresh and well made. All of the meat was perfectly done and very tender. The service was attentive.

Dinner for three adults including 2 caipirinhas each and no deserts ended up with a total bill of just over $100 without tip.

I will go there again.

$20 for a churrascara dinner isn't too shabby a price.

Did you ever go to: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chica...chaumburg.html ?
If so, how does it compare (to your recollection)

Willie,

I used to go the Sal e Carvao and I have been to Texas de Brazil and Fogo de Chão.

This place has all the feel of a Mom & Pop operation. I think it is a triple store front and is about half kitchen.

The salad bar is nice but small. None of the real fancy stuff that you would see at one of the bigger places (heart of palm, Russian Salad, cold marinated meats, etc.). But the salads are very fresh and they have some nice touches (asparagus, artichoke hearts, grilled peppers).

The meat selection is more limited than the others - no lamb or pork. But the meats served are very tasty and tender.

My objection to most of these places is they salt the meat well and I don't have much sodium in my diet so I find salt taste a bit strong. But that is just my personal taste. My adult son loved it.

One advantage this place has is they have hot side dishes on the buffet with the salad bar. You can get black beans and rice and sautéed mushrooms. Also some fried bread and fried bananas come with the meal as well. These would be extra ala carte items at the bigger places, as I recall.

Lunch DO or small get together?
