Two Muslim women who work for US government escorted off plane...

Two Muslim women who work for US government escorted off plane as they made staff ‘uncomfortable'

Two American Muslim women were asked to leave an American Airlines plane after one of them talked to another passenger about the lack of water and food and a flight attendant said they had made him feel “unsafe”.

I'm curious which flight this was. If it was in fact delayed 5 hours on the ground in MIA with no option available to deplane, then AA should be receiving a hefty fine from the DOT.

Sounds like the FA didn't like a passenger complaining about the situation and abused their power.

It seems like that to me, but I'm sure that the FA and pilot also checked out the name of the involved passengers and knew that the name of the "subversive" was "Muslim".

Perhaps the involved FA's internet habits may tell enough about the role of prejudice in the situation. Other than that, we still have the situation of a power-tripping cabin crew member that may lack proper passenger management skills.

Another report of a woman being detained while flying this time for reading a book.

That one really gets me. The book was about Syria and there were allegedly lots of pictures of violence.

You would never see images of people getting killed or terrorist battles or war or other horrors on inflight entertainment, nor would anyone ever be watching a war movie on their personal device on a plane. Because everyone knows that you only look at things like that if you're planning on engaging in them yourself.

And another one on a DL flight where the woman dared to mention the word for god in Arabic in a benign phrase and she got offloaded.

Well he was unsafe because of the lack of water and food on the plane. But I don't see how removing the women made things any better. Maybe he would be safer if he didn't work for AA.

AA has lots of GSA-contracted "city pairs" for lots of official USG travel. Terminating for cause might get AA's attention...

Just checked... AA is the contract carrier between MIA and all three DC airports.
