Many Federal agencies and departments besides TSA operate similarly, when that organization collects some sort of fee from the public or businesses. Collections above their authorized fiscal year amount are generally deposited to the US Treasury. I'm not defending the new increased security fee implementation, which I also disagree with, just pointing out that there is nothing unique about TSA in this regard.

Irrelevant. It's not okay to rip off Grandma and Grandpa when they pay for their own tickets. It's not okay to rip off leisure travelers or the self-employed when they pay for their own tickets. Why would it be okay to rip off a large corporation that pays for its employees' travel? The fact that a company can absorb the loss does not justify charging illegal or inflated fees.
To clarify, I am just as (well, nearly) disapponited as others here but, if we take TSAPressSec at his/her word, then TSA is just trying to keep its overall budget stable. It appears to me that Congress has appropriated half its "rake". Anyone agree? Or maybe explain without hating on them? I fully agree there is loads of room for improvement and introduction of sanity.

Abolish the TSA now!!! It's time.

Made it stop! They don't want to pay taxes. It will so extremely expensive. There is no reason to do it. What a stupid move.

You waste the time and better not to do that again.
