I would wager, however, that those were true pat downs, not the gropes that TSA agents perform. The Japanese female security screeners were not putting their hands in the genital area of male passengers - or females passengers either.

The more that quit, the better. Preferably no one would apply to "work" at such a disgusting, un-American agency.

Un-American comment aside; the more that quit, the more new hires, the longer/slower the lines.

Do not care. Maybe such stats will clue Congress into this disgusting, un-American agency's turnover being no better than before it was Communized. It's certainly not been Professionalized. Other than perhaps in terms of professional organized crime.

Long lines is not the problem.

You are absolutely correct! The article is wrong on two accounts:
1. Females are not getting to use other stations, which leads to the status that the cannot be promoted.
2. Females are preferred for patting down children. It is same gender across the board.

Good thing your female former federal judge boss didn't try to come up through the ranks or she'd probably still be at the checkpoint.

to her for not taking a stand and leveling the playing field for the women who work for her.

Reducing the sexual assaults to zero would have done just that.

Do members of Congress get the grope? If so, they should know the TSA's tactics and threats (unless they fly private jets from some benefactors or the other).

Most members of Congress go through the same security as the rest of the general public. And as with the public ... some members of Congress view the inconvenience/indignity of airline security as evidence of its effectiveness.

I think part of the problem is that the TSA views itself as some type of a law enforcement organization, and therefore attracts more male applicants. Many of the staff see it as a stepping stone to a job as a sworn officer. It should not be seen like that; rather, it is a clerical job. Once that is made clear, it will attract more females.

Of course, this could be resolved by removing most of the body scanners, which would result in far fewer pat-downs being conducted.

Do females opt-out more than males? Or are they chosen for pat-downs more often?
More women pax than male pax wear brassieres. Brassieres with metal trip wtmds. Many brassieres trip NoS. Result: more pat downs for female pax.

The TSA would prefer female pax go bra less. This would certainly boost recruitment. Heterosexual male TSOs could leer at all the pokies. Lesbian TSOs could molest breasts of female pax flying Commamdo.

The females have nothing to b1tch about when it comes to getting the better jobs within the TSA. Why not take a deeper look as to who is working in payroll,HR, and numerous other office clerical positions at each airport and still holding TSO positions in the FTE.

Well, if there's pro-female discrimination in the clerical positions, that should be addressed at the same time as the anti-female discrimination 'on the floor' should be addressed, and in the same way: level the playing field.

Perhaps some of the women in the office jobs moved there because it was a less-desirable job but a faster route to promotion.
