From the article:
"This has become an illicit perk that has been rampant among TSA workers in airports since TSA came on the scene. For the record, there have been 130 TSA workers arrested in the last three years including 21 arrested for sex crimes including 16 involving children, over 35 for theft, 12 for smuggling contraband through security and two for murder. In that same period 9,600 were fired or disciplined for misconduct at work.
Maybe it’s just me, but TSA seems to be recruiting from general population in prisons. In any case, there is no excuse for this level of criminal conduct in an agency charged with airport security and adorned with undeserved tin badges."
Nice to see reporting on TSA becoming more factually accurate in some cases. Not one mention of the a made-up play-title either. I do take issue with "workers", however...

Shame on him!!! He's trying to steal the money from the passengers. Unacceptable. It's very serious. He could go to prison for years. He will never work at airport again.

I dunno... does DHS operate its own pizza delivery service? Mission creep, and all that...
Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if NSA operates a covert Pizza Dude Corps, highly trained specialists who deliver the pies and plant surveillance devices in the process. I'm sure they're more successful than the 40 year old unshaven men in Girl Scout uniforms who attempt to plant surveillance devices while selling Girl Scout cookies door to door. That was a prototype program; didn't last past the 3rd customer.

Lets see, to put in in perspective, in two years NYP had 6000 cases of misconduct and Chicago PD had 8500! so in 3 years TSA had 9K, and the police stats are for drugs, sexual assaults, theft, homicide too. That does not count the violations of policy like attendence either and TSA is publishing those. So in reality for a group the size of TSA, this is not unusual. It is because TSA is a federal agency and is the most visible of federal agencies, that things like miscoduct come to light.

I have no contact with NYPD or CPD but I do have contact with TSA and on the whole my contact with TSA has not been satisfactory.
