From the sparse info I can't figure out when he was actually caught. Suspended while under investigation but not fired until charged; can't find fault with that, the delay seems down to the police. Did they not think to search his locker earlier?

Six months is about average. Unless an officer is caught on tape sleeping or stealing something, the investigation has to go back through TSA HQ in Washington for legal to approve a suspension or termination.

I just wondered why he didn't fired from airport. He will never work at airport anymore. He will spent in prison for life. He didn't followed the specific rules. He's breaking the rules. He will be no longer work for TSA. He can't be sleeping on the job. It's not permitted! He should know better. You can't be sleeping at work. You have stay barely wake during work hours.

MHT is the only place in the US where my experience with the TSA could truthfully be described as pleasant. I was racing to make a flight because US Air was canceling and rearranging their schedule on 15 minutes notice and the staff there got me through the checkpoint in about 90 seconds. It probably helped that I knew the drill, but even so, the 3 on duty made it easier. However, the pedophile was definitely not one of them.

Right, he was suspended without paying from TSA. He didn't do anything. He supposed to be terminated from the job. Didn't he have disciplinary action history? He didn't have a warning letter from AFSD. They never write up.

Dont know if you caught the news about the company USIS that does background checks for DHS and most of the FED. They are being investigated for fraud because they have been lieing about checks being done, interviews being done etc. even on their own people:

USIS is the leading private firm carrying out background investigations used by the federal government to grant security clearances to millions of people given access to the country's classified information.

Ex-TSA worker to plead guilty to child porn charges
Union Leader Article
"A former Manchester man who worked as a security officer for the Transportation Security Administration is expected admit to possessing child pornography, instead of going to trial for the crime.
Miguel Quinones, 39, of Litchfield intends to plead guilty to four counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, leaving a judge to decide how much time he will spend behind bars, according to an agreement filed by his lawyer.
Quinones could face up to 2 to 4 years in state prison. He is scheduled to change his plea and be sentenced on June 2 in Rockingham County Superior Court."
Another successful background check!

.... and yet the TSA wants passenger background checks to be done so it can discriminate against free, law-abiding persons at US airports even as the TSA's employee background checks are so "successful".
This is just another sign that the TSA -- which can't even screen out untrustworthy sickos using more extensive background checks for its own employees -- shouldn't be allowed to discriminate against passengers based on background check-based "trusted traveler" programs or anything else background check-based when it comes to screening free persons at US airports.
