List of TSA agents busted?
Is there a comprehensive list anywhere of the incidents for which TSA agents have been busted. Don't really care about names, mostly how many have been busted for rape, child porn, stealing on the job, stealing off the job, reported for sexual assault or harassment, etc.
Interesting how this might compare to other job classifications. |
Here you go. This thread has dropped to the second page of this forum.

There have been 62 screeners arrested so far this year. This includes:
1 for murder 11 for sex crime, 10 of which involved children. 4 for drug smuggling through airport security Over a dozen for theft from passengers totaling in excess of $800K Other crimes included impersonating a police officer, assault and battery and other assorted violations. "Please note that these 62 bad apples in no way reflect upon the other 64,938 hard-working, deadicated TSA employees who are your last line of defense against the terrorists who lurk in the shadows behind every corner, tree, and bush with liquid and sheet explosives stuffed in their underwear, shoes, water bottles, and in their hair."
I'm paraphrasing, of course... |
There is also this map, detailing a number of clerk arrests.

OK.. but as the OP implied this should really not be looked at in isolation...
Can we see the equivalent figures for Medical Practitioners, Teachers, Legal Professionals, Military personnel etc? After all regardless of what some folks apparently want to think, TSO's are not alone in being imperfect as a group...... I would personally be very surprised indeed if the TSA's per capita rate of indictable offenses was significantly different to any other large group in which the public is pretty much forced to "trust"..... |

Now pick any other government employee group that is tasked with protecting the the public. For example, out of the total number of LEOs in this country, how many have been arrested? Firefighters/EMTs? It would seem that if there were a comparable percentage, the TSA apologists would be citing all kinds of facts and figures. |

Thanks everyone. 63 in 65,000 is about 0.1% which, I think, is pretty high for a single year stat. It seems that for professional careers it's something like 0.002% per year for felonies, 0.008 if non-traffic misdemeanors are included. I could be off a decimal point or so though. If I find the study that looked at this I'll post more accurate info.
If I remember, the highest professional career for offenses was local and county law enforcement with something like 0.02% felonies per year and 0.5% misdemeanors, not including prosecutions for job related incidents. |
