TSA to offer buyouts to workers

The Transportation Security Administration is soon hoping to offer buyouts to about 3,000 administrative workers, one of dozens of federal agencies aiming to trim the payroll amid a budget crunch.

The agency’s roughly 51,000 unionized airport security officers, as well as its air marshals and intelligence personnel, would not be eligible, the agency said.
So at the regionals, it's the HR, Payroll,Legal, Training, and associated lackeys who would be eligible. Not the checkpoint employees.

There are fairly restrictive eligibility criteria for both the buy-out (take $25K and leave) or early retirement. I wouldn't think any clerks would qualify unless they transferred from another agency. It's also up to the agency to participate or not participate. Some were concerned about brain drain and "opted out" from participating.

Here's a thought, get rid of them all and go back to private screeners who can be held accountable.

The TSA is pretty much a show that costs taxpayers way too much. It's a collection of bureaucrats that are really parasites in reality. So much pain and suffering to travellers ever since the TSA gets to become the legalized perverts.

Hey, we could share contact info. Then you send me $100. When I get it, I'll hold on to it for a year. Next year you send me another $100 and then I send back $50. That way next year you get to save $50.

Too bad they're not offering buyouts to our friends at the airports. I bet we could find a bunch of FTers willing to kick in a few bucks toward that cause.

What would you like to bet they'd accept the "buyout" and show up for "work" again tomorrow expecting the pax to "buy them out" again?
