So would this taken less than two weeks ago at JAC be verboten (and talk about a chapped nose)?

The way I look it as is this, if I want to take photos to keep visual memories of my trip, getting questioned by the police/rent-a-cops/etc. is just the cost of doing business (not that I have to like it).

As promised, here's the reply. As others mentioned, it was a waste of time to write it.

Dear Mr. CMK10:

Thank you for contacting us. I am very sorry for the upsetting
experience you encountered with the rude representative when you took
the photograph of the New York JFK airports, United Airlines First
Class/Premier check in desks.

Please understand United takes security measures very seriously and it
is important that our representative take precautionary measure to
secure the safety of all passengers.
Your feelings that our representatives didn't handle your situation in a
professional manner are understandable and I am truly sorry.

As a Premier member Mr. CMK10 your comments and business is important to
us. I will give a copy of your report to airport and security
management teams for their review.

If you would like further information regarding security measure within
the airport please contact www.tsa.gov.

In addition let me share our policy on taking photographs onboard the
aircraft please note United Airlines strives to make its customer
experience safe and comfortable and accordingly has issued the following
policy in regard to the use of personal audio and video equipment
onboard its aircraft. This policy is not a contract and does not create
any legal rights or obligations.

Customers who bring personal audio and video equipment onboard may only
use these items with headsets. Noise-canceling headsets may be
activated. The use of still and video cameras, film or digital,
including any cellular or other devices that have this capability, is
permitted only for recording of personal events. However, photography,
audio, or video recording of other customers without their express prior
consent is strictly prohibited. Also, unauthorized photography, audio,
or video recording of airline personnel, aircraft equipment, or
procedures is always prohibited. Any voice, audio, video, or other
photography (motion or still), recording, or transmission while on any
United Airlines aircraft is strictly prohibited, except to the extent
specifically permitted by United Airlines.

If I can be of further assistance please let me know.

We appreciate you taking the time to express your view and look forward
to welcoming you onboard soon

Regards,

Someone who Couldn't Care Less

You should have put the word "lawsuit" in your email. They probably have a filter that sends it to a person for which reading comprehension is not foreign.

I'm shocked to hear this one. At LAX, it's a known paparazzi zone anywhere that isn't secured. There's literally a car service that lets celebrities avoid the public terminal and baggage claim areas.

I guess that's maybe kinda not allowed by United? Unauthorized photos of United operations?

Um ... who knows? You posted on a four-year-old thread. I'm sure all sorts of things are different now.

There is a better way to build a post count than bumping four year old threads.
