Jokes aside, the "perfect" airport security system is one that closes and dismantles the airport.

My perfect system would have TSA (in any form - including contracted) frogmarched out of all the airports and replaced with something much more sensible.

We sure didn't have "perfect security" before 9/11, but it was a whole lot closer to optimum than what we have now. People are aghast at what the national government spends, but when we have a culture of overreaction like this, waste is pretty much guaranteed. That's why people need to chill, so their rational mind can provide measured responses.
