Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit

How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.

For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.

But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.

Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.

Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.

Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

Uber yes, as has been covered. For buses, it should work when you load your transit card. Another poster says NYC MTA works. I can confirm from my own experience that CTA (Chicago), WMATA (DC) and LACMTA (LA) transit card loads code as travel as do Amtrak and Metrolink tickets.

The terms say that charges that post after your December statement closes will count toward the following year, so if your statement closes on the 15th, buy tickets on the 16th.

I was looking at United's website today and it indicated that sale of gift cards is suspended while they make changes to their system. Don't know how temporary that is.

Answered my own question about AAA.

I went back through my old statements and I did pay for my AAA with my CSP. No corresponding travel bonus UR on that statement.

If I can't get it for the membership fee, I doubt I would get it for any item or service from them either.

For the SW refundable ticket... When cancelled.. Do the funds convert to SW travel credit? Or do the funds go back on the card?

I have a coworker who doenst plan on doing any travel this year but got the card. If uses the card to purchase a SW ticket for sometime next year then cancels the ticket at beginning of next year with the refund going back to the credit card, think the $300 travel credit can be clawed back?

And said it would resetake again in January.... Is this true? I've seen nothing mentioned about being prorated...people.just said they got full 300

I'd expect it to claw back. Just like points get subtracted from returns.

the credit doesn't reduce the spend.

Ok....so I had to call back because something didn't sound right.

I spoke with a different CR this morning who said whatever the CR rep from last night said to you is completely wrong. I will get full $300 thru Dec 31. And then it resets on Jan 1 for another $300. She also said the rep from last night was also wrong when she told me that the AF is waived the first year....

Some training they have given their reps!!

Btw...it seems getting this card in December is way to go...you get a quick $300 credit...and another $300 a few weeks later...
