I had the same understanding of the rules around this. It looked like CPC members were getting referred to the CSR.

My brother-in-law with several millions at CPC, was denied the JPMR. He won't speak to me anymore

Is there any benefit in having the JPMR? It seems that beside the unofficial United Club benefit, JPMR and CSR are pretty much the same card.

Am I missing something?

It could be the case, as the datapoint was as of 2016.

This particular example has been thoroughly discussed earlier in the thread. Use Search this Thread with the keyword therewardboss to review.

The other major benefit is a hidden trade line.

Why is that a benefit? I mean, if I keep my utilization low, why is it a benefit the credit is not reported?

Or is it a card with no CL?

All cards have a limit. VISA Infinite cards (in common with VISA Signature, MasterCard World/World Elite and American Express charge cards) have a feature called No Preset Spending limit, which does not mean no limit. Read HERE.

The advantage of a hidden tradeline (which most business cards also have) is that you can pay your cards when due, rather than before the statement is generated, and not affect the utilization portion of your FICO score.

It also helps you avoid the, "too many open accounts," or, "too much available credit," denial reason you might receive from other issuers.

If I have a credit balance of $300 and want to withdraw $100 from a Chase ATM, would there be no interest or fees accrued? I know there is no cash advance fee, but I haven't heard about this scenario before...

I was on the Chase website and just noticed that my APR and Cash Advance had increased since June 1 (compared to when my original JPMR cardmember agreement was sent.)

APR went up 0.75%
Cash Advance also went up 0.75%

Not that I have ever used either of them...

Has yours been changed as well? How much?

PS, I understand that for PB clients, there is no cash advance fee

Hasn't the Fed raised the Prime Rate by that much since the card came out?

J.P. Morgan Fraud Alert

I received a fraud alert via text and email for an in person foreign translation after it was completed. I confirmed that I made the charge, but I thought we weren't supposed to get hassled for in-person transactions? I don't always have immediate access to alerts when overseas so I'd hate for this to be an ongoing issue.

I recently sent an SM to notify Chase of an impending foreign trip, and this is the SM they sent me:

"Hello, 747FC,

Let me share with you that we typically ask customers to
let us know when they're taking a trip, but because of
your history with us, you don't need to notify us when you
travel with these cards
ending in XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX.

when you're traveling:
--We continue to monitor your account for signs of fraud.
--We may decline a charge if we think someone else is
using your card.
"
