Existing card members can use "any hotel" certificates that were issued/will be issued prior to April 30th. Any Anniversary Night issued BEFORE May 1, 2018 is still valid at any IHG hotel worldwide.
Certificates issued AFTER May 1 will be under the new T & C's.
From Chase:
Here’s what’s changing

So the sign up bonus right now is 60k + free anniversary night? Or do you get the free night next year? If i immediately get the free night, when does that become active? After meeting spending threshold or when the card is first active?

If the term "anniversary" isn't clear enough, you can read the bonus summary in the wiki above.

Was approved for the 80k + 5k AU offer. With the free anniversary night and the 10% points back on redemption stays, this is perhaps the greatest card to keep in one's back pocket. The only spend I will put on is when I stay at IHG hotels, which luckily I am very soon.
I actually think it makes sense for people to purchase IHG Ambassador status as well which will usually entitle the person to a room upgrade. You also get the BOGO. You can combine the BOGO with the free annual night from the card. Get 2 free nights, 1 paid night.

Interesting. I'm trying this tonight after being approved for 60K +$50 offer earlier today. Says "this offer is not available for you" and the language on the page still says 60K. Wonder if it's because I got approved today.
Anyone know how long it takes until the account shows Plat Elite status? Want to use for Hilton status match before trip starting in 12 days.

is anyone willing to share the screenshot for the 80K offer, or 80K + $50 offer?
please kindly PM me if you do and dont feel comfortable sharing in forum.
i wasnt able to get that offer, but did apply for the regular 60K + $50 offer anyway bc i need IHG points in the next 6 months.
but trying to SM Chase to match the offer now. i dont know if i will be successful though past data points seems optimistic.
