Transferring UR to British
Hello,
I'm trying to keep my Avois miles from expiring by transferring points to it. Does anyone know if I can still transfer UR points to British Avios? I'm not seeing an option anywhere on the ultimate rewards website in my account.
There are blog posts and such that say that a transfer is possible, (like this one: http://millionmilesecrets.com/2014/0...sfer-partners/), but I'm not seeing the option anywhere on my account web page once I login.
On a different note, can someone please let me know why this thread that I opened to ask the same question says "closed"?

Thanks.

mia - much appreciate the response and explanations, thanks!
I don't have any of those cards. The only Ultimate Rewards card I have is a Chase Freedom, with no annual fee. That probably explains why I don't see the option in my account, which was my first question in the previous thread. I couldn't figure out whether the option would show up if I had 1000 point, but based on what you said, it won't, which is good to know.
Is there any kind of reference somewhere showing what cards allow for a transfer and what don't?
Thanks again!

READ this thread and wiki: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...mes-rules.html If I were you I'd forget the 500 pts you have and move on. Unless you want to open a new card that will give you more pts.
Your 500 pts are worth less than $10.

philemer, thanks for the response, and for the link, very informative!
I'm only interested in keeping my Avios miles (over a 140k) from expiring. I'm not trying to avoid losing 500 UR points. Sounds like I should choose an alternative method. Good to know.
