Do amazon local register transactions get 5% with Freedom Cardin Q4?

I just did the experiment and the answer is No.

I know AP does not work.
Is there a easier way to liquidate the 5% for $1500 spend.

Sears is still in business? Huh, imagine that.

Only thing useful is Amazon and even then its very limited. I wish Chase would put some more useful categories like drugstores and grocery stores.

Does Dept stores sell Visa/MC cards on Chase CC?

That would be easier way I suppose.

Sears sells $50 gas and restaurant gift cards. I will probably load up on some gas and rest gift cards to meet the $1,500 and just spend them later. Not ideal but still 5% CB on gas

I'll probably do the Sears VGCs thing. Its just like getting $200 VGCs with Chase Ink...except you don't get the 1% from VSE.

Everyone is getting a Christmas gift from Amazon this year. And whatever is left will be used towards gas gift cards.

Lately Amazon prices are not good enough.
They even pulled out free shipping and increased it to 35$.

I am seeing better deals in Best Buy, Target, Walmart, even Staples is good.
Big ticket electronic items I prefer a B&M store for the ease of returns. With price match, Best Buy is awesome.

For apparel, Macy's is where I go the most.
Though Kohls also has some good deals.

Even if it isn't you could buy a Nordstrom GC at the normal Nordstrom and use it to pay at a Rack store.

My fiancee has some big items she is planning to get for herself ($550 Tory Burch boots, not sure why they're necessary [/humblebrag]) plus Christmas gifts for people, that I'll get her to put on her AU card and pay me back, which should cover most of the $1500. To meet rest I'll use for my random Amazon purchases instead of my Citi Forward.

I agree about Amazon, their prices aren't anywhere near as good as they were like 4-5 years ago. I find them to be similar price to B&M stores or even more expensive than the big chain stores so it takes away the benefit.

With CA being a tax state for Amazon purchases since 2012, it really killed the savings for me on buying a ton of stuff on Amazon. Not having the tax was essentially like 9% off my purchase.

There are certainly advantages to spreading your MS across lightly used CCs, etc, but if you have a Vons gas station nearby you'd generally tend to be better off buying gas and restaurant GCs at Vons during 4X on GCs (or even 2X).

Example...

$1500 in fee-free store-specific GCs at Sears with CF
7500 UR points worth ~$113

$1500 in fee-free store-specific GCs at Vons 4X with OBC
5% OBC CB $75
6 x $1 off/gal fillups x say 14 gal = $84
Total $159

$1500 in fee-free store-specific GCs at Vons 2X with OBC
5% OBC CB $75
3 x $1 off/gal fillups x say 14 gal = $42
Total $117
