In my opinion thats like $10 savings a month or $120 a year.
Good for you to be able to use some of the benefits. No idea about the free movie tickets but then we have not been in a movie theater for at least 20 years.

I get my fix on movies usually during a cruise or on a longhaul flight to somewhere. Watched the "Unbroken" on a recent transatlantic crossing on Allure (and found it pretty underwhelmed), but loved the Disney movie "Hero 6" - a kid's movie with important messages. I liked it so much that I watched it twice (the movie was shown a few times at different venues). Also watched "Fury" on a CX flight from FRA to HKG. It was a good one but no comparison to "Saving Private Ryan" by Tom Hank several years ago. Also watched "Madagascar 2 and 3", "Frozen" as well as the old movie "Happy Feet". I guess you can tell I could not sleep on the long flights ... The funniest thing is to watch "Paddington" (was it the title?) in 2 "installments" - on 2 different flights (CX and JL) 2 weeks apart. It took me a while to realize it was Nicole Kidman who played the daughter of the explorer. I thoroughly enjoyed the film. There were definitely some "Laugh Out Loud" moments watching this movie.

Otherwise, no movie watching when staying at home.

Flipping the in flight magazine on the CX flight I did notice that Visa Signature Hong Kong has a lot great dining discounts. I wanted to try some of them but alas, unable to find time to test if the Visa Signature issued in US would enjoy the same benefits.

See this link

I wish the Visa Signature in US has similar savings that are far more valuable than the movie tickets.

I just applied for the Chase Freedom last night and was auto approved with a $10,000 CL. I called today and was told that it was a "signature" card.

To be eligible you have to either: be initially approved for more than $5k CL or have at least $5k CL and be in good standing for 12 statement cycles.

I've had my Freedom forever but only have a $4,000 CL. Should I transfer from CL from my CSP or UA card now so I can upgrade to Signature in 12 months?

I thought having the Signature means that the merchant are being charged higher processing fee?

I recently applied for my Freedom and thankfully it came with Signature.

Does the Signature actually come with better return protection? I've noticed equally poor return protection on my freedom card (non signature) and my united card (signature). Additionally the website lists added benefits of signature card all have to do with travel insurance.

Yes, you should be fine. I got upgraded to VISA signature and they only bumped me above $5k limit a few months ago. Have had the card for years though.

I sent a SM to get upgraded.

To clarify you dont need to have 5k of credil limit or more for 1 year. You need to have the card for 1 year open, no matter the limit and have 5k of CL. So you can have a CL of 4k for 1 year and then bump to 5k and they will give you the VS

I just sent a secure message requesting that my Freedom be upgraded to a Visa Signature. I've had the card for 4 years and just recently bumped the CL to $5k. I received a response saying that an "escalation specialist" would review my request and I would receive a reply via postal mail within 10 to 14 business days. Seems strange that something so simple requires escalation to a "specialist."

I had this issue in the past where my CL was over 5K, but they would always deny my request to convert to a VS. The way I got around it was I did a product change to the no-fee Sapphire and during the conversion I confirmed with the representative that it would be a VS. Once I received the no-fee sapphire VS I called again to convert to the Freedom. Since the account was now a VS the Freedom that I got was now a VS. BTW - my account number never changed with all the conversions. I guess you sort of have to go through about a month where you are not getting the category spending bonus, but if you do it early enough in the quarter you can make it up.

Can someone explain why it's worth it to have freedom be visa signature?

It looks to me like the advantages of signature are: trip cancellation, lost luggage reimbursement, and travel accident insurance. Wouldn't it be better to have a Sapphire card as well and have that be a signature and earn the 2x on travel? Is it only worth it if you don't have another card for travel spending? Or am I missing something here?
