What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is a charge card (pay balance in full each month), while Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. Otherwise, the two cards are very similar; both are business cards, and both allow you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.
What are the best current offers?
There are no current Ink Bold offers. There are several non-targeted Ink Plus offers for 50K, all for $5,000 spend in the first 3 months from account opening with annual fee ($95) waived for the first year:
What are the rules for transfering UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?

Visa SavingsEdge says you can start using it "After you receive enrollment confirmation". When do you receive this "enrollment confirmation"? Do they email you after a few days to confirm that you're enrolled, or are you enrolled immediately when you create an account and enter a card number?

Should be immediate

I've searched this thread and a couple of other Ink-related threads, but didn't see a clear answer. Apologies if I missed it. I applied for the Ink Plus 70k offer a couple of weeks ago, and got the following message:

Thanks for Applying. Please call us as soon as possible at 1-800-243-6010 Mon-Fri 8am to 10pm EST to discuss your application with a Customer Support Specialist. We look forward to speaking with you.
Please reference #XXXXXXXXXX when you call.
I already had a CSP with a nice credit line, 3 year history with Chase, many personal cards but no business. I called the number, was asked a couple of pro forma identity-verification questions, and put on hold. Rep came back and told me I was approved with a $21.5k CL. Didn't ask me a single business-related question. On the application I put a sole prop with SSN, revenue of a few hundred (all true).

I had my wife apply for the 70k offer yesterday before it expires. She received the same message. Details on her app were similar to mine, although her business revenue was somewhat lower (~$100). My understanding is that household income is fair on CC applications, so we both listed the same income (our combined). She does not have any history with Chase besides being an AU on my CSP. She does however have an Amex and a couple of other cards in her name, FICO lower than mine but still mid-700s.

My question: is it necessary to call in or is it reasonable to wait this one out? I was pleased that I was not given a "grilling" by the Business CSR when I called, but I was prepared in case. My wife on the other hand will not take kindly to being subjected to detailed questioning, and isn't likely to handle the questions particularly well unless I really prep her. The automated app status phone line has the "two weeks" message.

I'd rather wait and not risk her getting interrogated. Conventional wisdom seems to be that waiting is fine, but I haven't seen reference to the message that specifically asks you to call. Since I received that message but the rep didn't ask me anything substantive, it's obviously not a clear case of more info being required, but I don't know if this will just turn into a denial if she doesn't call? Any experience from others who received this message?

In all cases where any company has asked me to call, it has always been for identity verification. I haven't seen anywhere where someone was asked to call right after applying and were asked questions other than identity related. just my 2c.

What's the recon line number for biz cards? The one mentioned on 70K offers wiki is for consumer cards and the CS agent was more or less a dead end.

If it asks you to call, it means that you haven't been outright rejected yet but they need to clear something up, possibly anti-fraud verification. Did you put a new billing address that you haven't used before? Happens to me all the time with one credit bureau frozen. They see that and flag it.

I wouldn't recommend waiting it out because they will need to clear that up to proceed. I know recon can be intimidating, but if you're in this game you're going to have to learn to do it. She has nothing to lose but a single card rejection.

Thanks for the replies and advice -- I just had her call. Same experience as my app, was asked for name and mothers maiden name, 2 minute hold, came back as approved for 10k. Glad it was so easy

I applied for the Ink Plus on Friday 10/17 and received the pending notification. I called the automated line yesterday and today with no progress. So I decided to call the live rep line today and was approved with only questions about my identity – nothing about my business (I have rental property). I was nervous about this application because I was denied for the Ink Bold back in February of this year. I do have some background that may or may not be helpful to others in getting approved for Chase business cards. My Chase history is as follows:

• Applied/received IHG Rewards Club Select MC 5/13/13
• Applied/received Southwest RR Plus Personal Visa 10/16/13
• Applied/received Southwest RR Plus Business Visa 10/16/13 (these two got me the companion pass early this year)
• Applied/received the Marriott Rewards Premiere Visa 2/20/14
• Applied/denied for the Ink Bold 2/20/14 [Chase told me that I already had one business card with them and that it should be enough for my business. They also told me that I needed more time with them to establish my history as I had only been a customer for less than one year.]
• When I was approved for the Marriott card, I was given a credit limit of $28k. In hopes of freeing up room for another card in the future, I reduced this limit to $5k on 9/5/14. I know the argument that a higher credit limit helps with your utilization and that many people say that you should never lower your credit limit so you can bargain with it for future cards. However, my theory is that I know that Chase felt that I could handle $28k, and if I lowered it to $5k, I would have at least $23k available that they believe I can handle. I also felt that I wasn’t without ammunition as I had $12k and $14k on my other two Chase cards to play with if I ever needed to shift credit around. Regarding the credit utilization point, I pay all of my credit cards each month prior to billing with the exception of two, and my credit utilization is usually right around 1%. This may not have helped me at all in my approval today with the Ink Plus, but this is just a data point to consider.
• I also decided that I wanted to get rid of the one Chase business card I had(Southwest), so that when I applied for another Chase business card, they couldn’t say that I already had a business card with them. I really didn’t need the Southwest business card as I had the personal. I cancelled this card on 9/5/14 which was 10 ½ months after I applied for it.
• When I applied for the Ink Plus on 10/17/14, I realized after the fact that this was coincidentally one year and one day after I applied for the Southwest Business card. It likely wasn’t a factor at all, but it is an interesting fact (to me if to no one else).
• When I called in today regarding the Ink Plus, they put me on hold. Came back and said that they needed to transfer me to verification. After the transfer to the second agent, I was asked to verify my phone numbers on the application, and I had to verify my credit limit and one recent transaction on my Southwest Plus Personal Visa. They put me on hold again and came back and said that I was approved with a credit limit of $32k. No questions at all about my business.

I am excited to be getting this card as this is my first Ultimate Rewards card. While I received some very useful cards when I started this journey in May 2013, I felt that this was one that I should have gotten earlier rather than later. I hope that my data point can be helpful to someone else as I have surely received a lot of useful information on this site.

Was this Today?
Anyway, This is exactly why I sat this one out!

A quick note to point out that Chase has pulled Ink Bold from the standard Ink landing page. Application pages remain available. (I've updated the wiki accordingly.)

Note also the ongoing discussion in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...continued.html.

Thanks for the heads up. I was keeping an eye on this. I had read on some blogs the last day to apply was November 16 or 17. But since they took it off their website, I applied today.

[QUOTE]

I apologize if my post came across as promoting the Ink Plus card as that certainly was not my intention. I realize that some people will be approved and others will not be as there are numerous differences between each applicant. I had applied and was denied for the Ink Bold back in February of this year, and I applied for the Ink Plus on 10/17 and was approved after calling in on 10/21. I just wanted to provide a data point to highlight the differences in my failed and successful attempts for a Chase Ink card. All, some, or none of these factors may have contributed to me going from denied to approved. With all else being equal, the major differences between my successful and unsuccessful applications from my perspective are:

• In February, I had been a Chase customer for about 9 months, and now I have been a Chase customer for 17 months.
• When I was denied for the Ink Bold in February, I was also holding the Southwest Plus Business Visa. When I was approved for the Ink Plus, I had no Chase business cards.
• When I was denied for the Ink Bold, I had just received (the same day) the Marriott personal card with a $28k CL. Before I applied for the Ink Plus, I reduced the CL on the Marriott down to $5k.

No need and none taken. I was again just highlighting how rarely "easy approvals" come nowadays

I though already have the INK bold, so I have nothing to complain about, I guess

The Ink Bold app pages are now dead. Say goodnight, folks.
