I just applied for the IHG credit card through the 2nd link:

I was given an immediate approval, but it didn't say for which sign up bonus. I called Chase told them I believed it was for 80k. The person told me I will get 80k points when I spend $1,000 in 3 months. Easy to do right?
So the 80k is still alive it seems!

FWIW, I sent an SM to Chase after applying for the 60k offer and they gladly offered to match me to 80k.

Yes this is my first IHG card but not my first Chase card. I assume Ill be getting the MC version since that was pictured. Itll be here in a few days. I'll let you know which one I received then

Is there anyway to get this card expedited?
My approved app email says 'within the next 2 weeks" ill get the card???!!
(I just sent a SM since the new card shows up on chase, ill update this post as to what they say)

Long hiatus from the thread. The MC news has my interest piqued.
Scanned the past 3-5 pages, correct me if I'm wrong, but the consensus is:
We still don't know if you can get the bonus for the MC if you previously held the VS w/i the past year (normal Chase rules)
We do know you can't hold the VS and MC at the same time.
Waiting for data points on canceling VS and applying for MC. Correct?

Datapoint, last weekend I applied under the 80k Visa link. I immediately checked my online profile, and sure enough the new card was listed on my personal accounts already. So I sent Chase an SM about the card.
Their response is that I am signed up for the 80k after $1k in spending offer. They said my new card would have the benefits of a Visa Signature account. Finally, I have a trip at the end of this month, and they are contacting IHG to expedite my platinum status.
I had not stayed with the chain for over a decade after Priority Club refused to re-instate points redeemed by an identity thief. Priority Club gave out my password over the phone and that allowed the identity thief to redeem the points. I sent them the police report, but still lost a year's worth of points. But that was back in 2003. I switched to Hilton and Marriott. But I really had no other good alternative for a trade show I am attending later this month. So I decided to sign up for IHG.

Data Point -Expedited card
Was approved March 11th my email says within the next 2 week I will get the card
Sent a SM using the topic "replacement card" asking if they could expedite my card.
Got a reply 8 hrs later stating my card will be sent via "rush delivery" and I should get it by march 14th !
Am planning a trip in the next few days so this really made my day.
