Hello - does having the Ritz Carlton card open prevent this? I see the 70K link is back up and want to sign up ASAP.

I got the card and the 70k offer. I just made the 2k minimum spend. How long until I see the points hat my Marriott account?

Offer displayed but not honored
I was on the London EDITION's site looking at rates for an upcoming trip in August and there was an ad on the front page for 70,000 Marriott points with the Marriott Rewards Card.
I clicked through and it asked me to login to my Marriott account and then said it was for Elite's only (I'm gold due to the Ritz card) and displayed the current offer of 50k points instead. Bummer.

Ok, I posted too soon. I went back into my history on my browser to find out which page exactly display the link. I got there by logging into my Marriott account, clicking Account Overview -> Promotions. On the left side there's a section titled "MARRIOTT REWARDS EXCLUSIVE OFFERS" under it there's a link titled "Exclusive Offer: 70,000 Bonus Points".
I went back clicked this, proceeded and was approved. Not a great deal, but saves me from buying some points for an upcoming trip.

Signed up for the card two years ago and received the awards around Jan/Feb of 2013. Just signed up again this week, and unexpectedly received the free night award this afternoon. So apparently it does happen.

Applied for my 3rd Marriott 50k just yesterday (Dec. 28th), approved instantly.
I have a Chase savings account and have presently 2 other Chase cards and had up to 5 in 2012
Had received the bonus on my 2nd canceled card on 11/20/2012
Just got an email that I now have an e-certificate for a Cat. 1-4 hotel, good for 6 mos.
I wasn't expecting this since I did not get it on card #2.

Also, add me to the list of people who got a free cert (3 years ago) and reapplied for another card and received another free cert. Seems like it's pretty common.

Just another data point regarding the free night certificates. Applied for Marriott Premier Rewards CC (first Marriott CC) around 11/2012 and received free night certificate. Marriott Premier cancelled 10/2014. Applied for Marriott Rewards CC (30k bonus plus 2 free night certificate) in 1/2015 and received 2 free night certificate as promoted. Applied for the non-premier to help with reaching lifetime status. I was not expecting to receive the certificates so... YMMV

I applied for the business card (50k points promotion) on 1/19. Received the certificate in my account for cat 1-4 on 1/21. I have not received the card still. Is this normal to take that long--especially with the spend clock ticking?
