If you haven't applied for any credit card (Chase or other bank) in past several months and your credit score is high then there is a decent chance of approval for both. In the unlikely event your credit lines on your existing Chase cards sum to over $50k you may want to reduce credit line on at least one of them before applying for new cards to increase chances of instant approval.

I just got approved for the Southwest Plus card after applying over the phone with a referral. I didn't get an instant decision when applying over the phone. I called the automated status line a couple days later, still no decision so I talked to an agent. She verified my name, address, and income then recommended my app for approval but said a senior credit specialist had to review it. I called back a couple days later and got an auto approval for $20k with no questions. He said he just had to verify my name and address against my credit report. Kind of surprised it took three tries to get approved since I didn't get asked any substantive questions but whatever.

I guess a business credit line counts against the total amount of credit that Chase is willing to extend to you. I had to move credit around for my last Chase card so prior to applying for this one, I closed my Southwest business card ($10k) and reduced the credit line on two other cards by $5k each.

Closed Southwest personal premier and business plus last Oct when AF came due (had been open one year). I may want to reapply in Nov or Dec. These are still showing in my Chase online accounts though they say "closed". Will this affect my ability to get bonus points again after not having card for 12 months?

It doesn't matter that closed accounts are still visible. What matters a lot, though, is that having the card closed for 12 months does not make you eligible for a successful churn. See the wiki for details.

Chase business card reconsideration (what else to do?)

Hello Everyone,

I applied to a business credit card and was denied because of the following reasons
1. The business does not have enough credit history (one year old in March)
2. Two Cards have already been opened in the last three months.
3. The revenue of the business 20 k does not warrant additional credit.

I asked if it's possible to transfer credit from my other business cards but the rep said no. Is there anything else I can do to get my application approved?

You probably won't get any good responses unless you tell us which bank issues the card you were denied for. Each bank has different procedures for reconsideration.

Should have said the business is 5 years old with $150K income. That would have made a difference.

Probably not much you can do now. I would wait several months and try again.

Called again yesterday and their reason was they needed to confirm my address. I explained that I followed their request to list my physical address, then mentioned I normally use my PO BOX. Gave that address and 2 mins later was instantly approved.

Have recent experiences confirmed you can get multiple signup bonuses for the same Chase business product if you have multiple businesses?

I've had several Inks in different business names but they have been spread out from 6 to 12 months apart over a few years. The last one was only about 3 months ago and it was a targeted direct mail solicitation.

I have two personal United Plus Explorers, just closed one and applied for the Business version. It was not an instant approval, got the "let you know by letter" response. I wonder if the most recent Ink, only 3 months old although in a different business name, is going to queer it.

My experience is that you will not be instantly approved for two at the same time, but you will be able to call reconsideration to get the second one approved. It's been a long while since I've done it so I don't recall how it worked out in terms of pulls.

Did you already apply for a personal SW card? I think Chase is very picky when it comes to issuing SW business if you already applied recently for a SW personal card as they don't want people to easily get a free companion pass.

Ok, that makes a lot of sense since this will be my second sw business card.

"You will be notified of our decision in 2 weeks"

Applied for Ink Plus last Saturday and the automated message on the app status line says "You will be notified of our decision in 2 weeks".

Is it safe to assume it will be a decline?
