thanks for the replies
Thanks for the replies... so it seems it is indeed a lot of applications, but of course I can try. I guess my main question is whether or not I would know that I am actually eligible for the bonus before "wasting" 5k of spend? In other worse if I'm approved using an EIN which has never had an Ink card, was that specialist correct that they would deny my bonus because my personal name is linked to my corp's ink card?
Thanks again

With all of the closings lately, this is actually a very pertinent question.
If you apply as a sole proprietor, then there is a personal liability for a business card. So your personal credit score will be pulled.
If you have a long credit history, 10+ years, and a strong credit score, then you will be able to do more. But if you are young with a credit history less than 5 years, be careful. Opening a lot of credit lines quickly could be a red flag to the banks that you are a credit risk.
My advice is that if you have over 10 years of credit history with a good credit score, then pick the card you want the most from Chase. You can probably get that now, although it could take a call to the reconsideration line. Then wait several months before applying with Chase again.
That is a relatively conservative take on the situation, but this is a long term game. Look at it as a marathon, not a sprint. Over time, if you don't get blacklisted, you will get more bonus points.

Correction. -Chase sometimes approve your apps and you receive new card just to have another dept within Chase close you down later. Seems to be happening more often now

Will chase normally grant credit to persons with short credit history (such as only had about 8 months and one store credit card listed on the credit history)? Mom got a denial on the Chase United MP and called once for the reconsideration, but received a 'no', wondering whether should try a second time or give up and wait for next time?
I would recommend starting with Freedom if there's little credit history. They give that out with lower CLs.

I can attest this is more or less true. I have about 5 years of real credit history--some credit cards before then but no real financials. They were unable to do a "real" corporate card for me, so all the ink cards I got had me as the personal guarantor. Which I don't mind because I can combine the points with my personal from chase.com.
I applied for 3 credit cards at once--2 for new businesses, 1 for personal. All with Chase. The second business application was denied. Primary reason for initial denial was that the card had the same EIN and Corp Name even though they had different DBAs. When we tried to revive the application I was told I also had too much open credit with Chase and there were too many applications at once.
I had both my CPC banker and regular banker work on it. The CPC banker wasn't able to get anywhere. He tried hard. My personal banker escalated beyond a Special Consideration Request and got it approved in the end. That process took 2 days.
So about 5 business days for the business card to get into my hands from initial application. I asked to get it expedited. Not sure if that actually did anything.
About 8 business days to get into my hands the revived/initially denied card.
It took 4 business days for my palladium to arrive from initial application.
EDIT: Applied for these cards roughly 3 weeks ago so this information is very current.

For a separate business I was able to get a "real" corporate card--no guarantor needed. They required that the business be existence for 5 years, which it was. This procedure was far more involving, requiring a complete break down of corporate structure. In this case it was an LLC, so I had to forward the Operating Agreement with all of the Members' membership percentage interests, tax returns, and the whole shebang. As a data point, this particular company did about $3 million in sales annually and the end result came in the form of a "$100k credit line" for use as a credit card.
I did this one roughly four months ago. The whole process took between 3 weeks to 4 weeks, probably a little closer to the 4 week mark.

What counts as a business? Would re-selling items for profit on ebay/amazon or day-trading stocks be a enough to get a INK card? As of now I have not started any such activity but plan to soon.
Anyway, I need a personal card to earn miles with. I'm on the fence between the CSP, Freedom, UA card, or AMEX offerings (gold, spg or prefered). I like the ability to transfer points, but i don't like the 1x on everyday purchases since I may be using SERVE or EVOLVE to pay bills online.

I received the following Chase cards , all within the last year
Ink Bold Approved ? date (sometime in early 2014)
Ink Plus Approved 5/14
Sapphire Approved 7/14
Freedom Approved 7/14
IHG Approved 6/14
United Personal approved 6/14
United Business approved 9/14
Fairmont Approved 8/14
Ritz Carlton Approved 9/14
Hyatt approved 10/13
I cancelled the Ink Bold and United Personal cards within the last two months.
For a few of these cards I had to speak with a representative and shift my credit around to get approved but I had no problem with approval. I guessed at my income when they requested it.
I own other cards as well.
My credit rating is between 770-790.

I had a plan to apply for the Chase Ink Bold card and the Chase SW Premiere card within the same week, because of the signup bonus expirations. My only previous Chase card is the United Explorer card, which I got 3 months ago.
I called yesterday with a referral number for the 50k Chase SW. I wasn't instantly approved. Today, I called the recon line just to check on the status, and the first person I spoke to put me on hold twice, told me she has to transfer me to a different department, then came back and told me that my application was still under review, and I will get a decision in one month. I asked for a reason, but my phone chose that moment to die.
So, I called the recon line again. I was put on hold, then told that my application is currently on review, and I will be given a decision in 2 weeks.
I was planning to apply for the Chase Ink Plus (70k offer) before 10/10, but now I'm wondering whether I should apply for that one at all, given the pending status of my SW application. I'm kicking myself for not doing the Chase Ink Plus one first, now.
7 total active credit cards. Credit history of ~20 years. Credit score 760 according to Credit Karma.
4 newest ones are:
Bank of the West: 4 years old
Capital One Cash Rewards: 3 years old
Chase United Mileage: 6 months old
Citibank AA: 4 months old
Upon investigating my credit report on Credit Karma, I noticed that one of my oldest credit cards (~10 years) is actually one where my parents added me as an additional user (AU). It happens to be a Chase card, and the credit limit on it is $30,000, which is 2x higher than any of my credit cards. Does being an AU on a credit card with such a high credit limit affect my chances of getting more Chase cards?
To summarize, my questions are:
1) Should I try to get the Ink Plus card before 10/10 given that my SW card app is still pending?
2) Does being an AU affect my chances of getting approved for additional Chase cards?

I don't know the answer, but I do know that personal and business cards are processed by different departments within Chase, and have different criteria for approval.

Anyone been approved by Chase for a Business card as an Independent Contractor ?
Has anyone been approved for a Chase Business Card as an Independent Contractor?
A grey area, as you don't own the business, but you have personal business expenses that you pay for yourself. I read somewhere that ICs don't qualify for Bus ccs, but I'm not sure that's correct, and I want a second opinion. TIA

How to get approved for the next Chase card
Hi,
I'm planning applying for a personal Chase card later this month. I currently have 3 personal and 1 business cards from Chase. Last time I applied for a Chase card (this July) I had to move some credit line from one of the cards to the new card to get approved. Rep told me they couldn't extend any additional credit to me.
Would it be better to:
1) cancel one of the current cards before applying; or
2) apply and call Chase to move credit line again if needed; or
3) call and reduce the credit line on one or more of my cards before applying

Multiple Chase Cards
If I apply for 2 Chase cards on the same day (Ink Plus and the CSP), will Chase do 2 hard pulls or 1?
If they do 1 hard pull, doesn't it always make sense to apply for 2 at once (minimize the # of inquiries)? Ala the Amex model.

I did multiple apps with AMEX. They approved one right away, and put the others on hold for 5 days. Then they did another HP before approving the other two. So I did get 3 ccs with only 2 HPs, but they were not all combined into 1, as I had been led to expect.

Great, thanks. That helps me a bit. Still trying to decide whether it's worth wasting (? Not sure if my SW pull was a waste yet) another hard pull if I decide to apply for the 70k Chase Ink Plus offer...
