SJO - Duty Free Shopping
What's the policy for liquids (liquors, perfumes) purchased in duty free shops at SJO? Can you take them out of the store, or are they delivered at the gate?

The actual duty-free shops package your purchases and deliver them to the gate. You cannot take them there yourself. The regular souvenir shops do not deliver your purchases to the gate.
For all flights to the U.S., you go through a secondary search of your carry-ons as you board. They confiscate any liquids over 3 ounces/100 ml, even a bottle of water. You pick up any packaged duty-free purchases on the jetway, after you go through this search.
