Off-brand car rentals in Belize

Has anyone tried the off-brand car rentals in Belize (many listed on the BZE site)? Going next week and have a reservation at Budget (have a discount code but wonder if it will be honored) and it's quite a bit more than some of the off-brand rentals.

although Ive never rented or even been to Belize,I have rented several times in other CA Countyrs. If I was simply staying in a Major city or close by Id go with the cheapest if I was going to be driving all over then I dont want an Off-brand unless they have locations throughout the Country/s I will driving in

I did have a couple of times where a rock or something hit my windshield on the road and I needed to change cars would hate to have waited till they arranged for the repair or sent a replacement car. Drove to the nearest Alamo they wrote up the damage report and we were on our way in no time

as much as I try my darnest to be Frugal. This is 1 thing Id rather pay more for and to know if I have a problem they have locations all over to help me out and I wont end up losing a day or 2 of my vacation

Just a follow up. The Budget franchisee (cheapest major - only Hertz and Thrifty still there otherwise - after discount codes) has very old and defective cars. First one they tried to palm off on us was a Suzuki Jimny which was not pristine by any stretch. Quite a few dings, worn paint, and shortly after leaving the airport (USD just to take a vehicle out of the parking lot), found that the vehicle wouldn't stay in 4th gear (even if you held it there). Took it back and they said they're waiting for parts. Got an old Hyundai SUV which was worse for wear, had a worn-out front end, and 4WD switch knob that was broken and they tried to epoxy it back (better to give a small pair of vise grips), and both vehicles had over 170k Km on them.

There are many local rentals cos and they may have better representation countrywide. The majors appear to only have active offices at the airport and Belize City.
