Targeted business class sale fares

Anyone else receive the email for "Exclusive Business Class" fares?

I've asked a few friends and no one else has received this. Looks like the member must travel as one of the passengers (can't change the name) so it really is a targeted offer. Silver member here with virtually nothing credited to CX for over a year.

Code:
Destination	Fare*	Cathay Pacific Regular Fare#
Cebu, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Taipei	HKD3,900	HKD7,700 - 12,150
Bangkok	HKD4,200	HKD5,700 - 6,560
Chiang Mai, Phuket	HKD4,500	HKD6,480
Kuala Lumpur, Penang	HKD5,500	HKD9,060 - 12,790
Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi	HKD6,000	HKD7,450
Denpasar [Bali]	HKD8,000	HKD17,670
Busan, Seoul	HKD8,200	HKD10,600 - 12,710
Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo, Singapore	HKD8,800

Yes, I got it. I'm now just an AsiaMiles member, have made just one redemption flight in the past year, and haven't made a revenue flight on CX since 2012 or so.

I wonder on what basis do CX select these target customers? My gf got the offer but I didn't; we are both GR and have basically the same travel pattern over the past 12 months except she took an extra Y return trip to TYO.

On my small sampling golds and diamonds don't seem to have received this. Maybe they figure that lesser travellers could be tempted to J by these fares hence it is true incremental revenue. Or maybe they're not sending this to anyone who has booked J in recent times.

This is an extremely attractive offer!
It's no longer good to be a DM or GO maybe

Add me to the list: I didn't get it.

I'm DM, and have bought J fares to a few of those destinations in the last 2 months. Nothing like spreading the goodwill.....

Nope didn't get it either...

For BKK and CNX it is comparable to ex-HKG GV2 fare... Fare to Japan and SIN is comparable to ex-TPE fare...

KUL? MH is even cheaper...

Therefore am I sad that I don't get it? Yes... Am I very concern about not getting it? Nope...

it makes sense that they try to target non-regular J flyers.
But how do they segregate when booking. Do you need to enter a special code?

So Cathay pretty much values non-flyers more (by giving them discounted C fares) and making me pay full-fares for my needs to travel in C class because they think they got me?

Looks like my strategy of diversifying to 3U, MU, and HX is the right decision (despite the physical pain associated with it, but the financial rewards more than makes up the difference).

In this case, i believe they value "less" for non-flyers...because they don't pay more IMO

On the plus side, MPC did just send me an email about some fringe benefits I can get at a HK restaurant group I have never heard of.

It makes full sense for CX to attract non-frequent premium pax to its business class.

It makes full sense for you to search for best value for your travel in business class..
