Citi to Avios bonus?

Is there ever a bonus rate for converting Citi HK Premiermiles points to BA Avios? Have seen 20% bonus for cards issued in India but only bonus for conversion to AM in HK.

Last year though...haven't seen one this year.

On the HSBC 30% bonus front the hongkongcard.comers are thinking of creative ways to get Premier Mastercard...with varying levels of success (#64 and #65 http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...p?id=18658&p=7 )

New Chase Sapphire Reserve

I understand that not everyone can get the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card (US addresses only) but with the new CSR card, offering 3x on travel + dining, I think it works out to roughly 2.58HKD/UR point, which seems like that'll be my preferred dining/travel card, with a Citibank Rewards (for telecom/supermarkets@3HKD/AM) and a BEA Worldflyer (for everything else@5HKD/AM).

Are there any other gaps that I'm missing that I need another card? This could also allow me to re-purpose my HSBC Premier card to another category, I think, instead of dining.

CSR: For oneworld, only Avios can be redeemed
Dynamic currency conversion
Need to settle USD in US

Edit 25/8: but chewing on it...if you access to a US card and fly over to the US enough to hand carry some cash over to keep your US accounts funded, it really isn't the worst idea in the world:

- FTF free (just don't get DCCed...you might be able to help with the local HK DCC documentation on https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cred...er-thread.html since I don't use my AUD cards in HK)

- Visa spreads and local HK banks' bank note spreads are thin enough not to impair the earn rate.

Isn't HSBC Visa Sig always preferable to HSBC Premier Mastercard?

I'm currently using:

HSBC Visa Sig with the 9X (3.6% cashback) on supermarkets and 3X (1.2% cashback) on other categories
Citibank PremierMiles for the $4/AM on overseas (mainly online), and also for $8/AM for HK club bills which would only get 1X (0.4%) on HSBC, and for Octopus AAVS.

I realise that I should be using BEA WorldFlyer rather than HSBC Visa Sig everything except the supermarket category if I wanted only miles, but in fact I take most of this stuff as cashback (via Octopus rewards) these days since I don't fly much and BEA WF doesn't seem to have that option.

Shortly I will buy HK$10,000 of Wellcome vouchers for $9,000 (through the promo that ran a month or two ago), and use them (and the Octopus Rewards) for my supermarket expenditure in 2017 and switch my HSBC Visa Sig 9X to dining for the year.

Of course if you shop at Wellcome / PnS in large chunks ($500/1000+) then there is almost always one card or another that gives you 8-10% discount, but I just can't be bothered to stack up a wallet full of cards!

Simple answer is yes cos of extra 3X Rewardcash for using of VS.

I actually maintain a separate list on hongkongcard for people who don't want miles

http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...ow.php?id=4979

You can't get past HSBC VS on dining 6X for both miles or cash rebate. I use my 6X elsewhere and dine on general spending offers or ICBC's 10% cash back offers which happens for 4 months a year.

For supermarket there's a Citic Motion card yielding 5.55% rebate provided you can run all your supermarket transactions at or under $500 on Mastercard Contactless/NFC.

General spending is Amex Blue Cash (basic 1% but can get 2.02% for reaching $98 spend/year) followed by a plethora of 1% cash back cards.

11. CCB HK Premier Banking Visa Infinite - 1 mile per $7.5 spent ($50 per 5,000 miles AM min $100)

1. Should be 1 mile per $8 spent.
2. AFAIK, the 3x/10x promotion (http://www.asia.ccb.com/hongkong/pro...nts/index.html) and travel/overseas 3x (http://www.asia.ccb.com/hongkong/per...s/travel_club/) are all applicable to CCB VIs.

That is, you can earn at most HK$0.67 per mile for 10x merchants and $2.67 at 3x merchants/online spending/oversea spending.

Hmm, I just realized that HSBC categories applies to all cards under a single name, so I can't have a HSBC dual currency with 6X China, and then have a HSBC Visa Sig with 9X under Home (or Lifestyle). Is that accurate?

The missus and I have been able to split it so far (her supplemental card is on Lifestyle, I think, while my main card is on Dining).

So, I think my new setup will be (I primarily use Avios redemption for short hauls in Asia, Chase URs for KE F long-haul redemption, and AM for companion fares for when the family comes along on my business trips):

CSR - travel/dining
HSBC Dual Currency (6X China) - RMB spend
Citi Rewards - supermarket/telecom
BEA Flyer - everything else

Can I get a HSBC Visa sig on a different category?

How about HSBC Principal card holder category is Overseas Spending; a new Supplementary card is issued to a family member. Is that Supplementary card still Overseas Spending and/or need to register again?

It's counted per ID. So a supplementary card can register a different category
