According to http://www.abcdlist.nl/a350f/a350f.html , CX's first A350 is yet to leave the assembly line. It looks like the gap between roll out and delivery is around 6 weeks on average. So we're potentially already in March, even if the roll out is this week.

A350 inaugural flight and general discussion

I hope it won't have much impact to the Hkg-Lgw a350 service starting sept as I am pretty much ready to make a booking by end of this month.

I have already booked my LGW-HKG flight for nearer the end of September. I'm confident the new aircraft will be online by then.

Yes, I had the same thought so I wouldn't book the 1st flight (2-sep). I am eying end of Sept also. Another reason is due to lower hotel rates.

CX already have 2 planes fully assembled (except engines) as of January - these are both painted.

Any delays will be due to interior outfitting not because they aren't leaving assembly line.

I read somewhere that the delays were due to some last minute change to the business seat design.

I am thinking of booking MNL-HKG for 228USD in economy on the 359 on 1st of may.Is there any city I can connect this flight to from HKG to reduce the price? MNL-HKG-BKK/TPE don't seem to that.

Anyone else planning to be on the inaugural?

I am planning to do CX901/900 pair on 1 May. Also thinking of adding TPE or sth else in front to bring down the price / earning more elite points.

Hope to see you on 900 and/or 901 900 seems to be sold out in Y,but 901 still has seats. I think I will get some LCC to MNL the day before and get a MNL-HKG-XXX ticket on the A359. Really don't wanna be spending much money on this trip.

Booked a HKG-DUS redemption U in Jan 2017. A359 seating plan was loaded and I can pick my seats online. Hope no more further delay to A350 launch.

I think Jan-2017 should not be a problem. I booked 20-SEP, which is more worrisome.
