In Economy on Dragonair, got greeted by the FA (I am MPC GO) and given a chilled bottle of Bonaqua. Not really required as it was short flight and I already a bottle of water from the lounge...

- Business Class.
- CX646 HYD to HKG this morning.
- Provided proactively.

In case people are interested, it is a water company owned by Tata. Its retail price is 25 rupee (as printed on the bottle). Very affordable.

Don't know if this is related, but Coca-cola is bottled and distributed by Swire Pacific in Hong Kong, the same company that owns Cathay. Since Bonaqua is a Coca-Cola brand, it makes sense for Cathay to use Bonaqua. Evian used to be distributed by Coca-cola as well, but apparently the partnership ended in 2013.

On a related note - does Cathay offer any sodas not made by Coca-cola?

Seriously
I guess they're generating new content to discuss in the forum. Keeps you wanting to come back here I guess (for the water, since it's the source of life...).

On CX162 last June 19, I got Nu-Pure bottles too, there were some Evian bottles loader or left from the previous flight which they offered when they ran out of Nu-Pure.

Swire is the franchised manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Schweppes, Bonaqua, Aquarius, Healthworks, Minute Maid, Hi-C, Glaceau, Georgia, Fuze, Nestea, & Nescafe brand beverages in Hong Kong.

So that pretty well covers it. As Hongkongers know, pretty much everything in this town is controlled by one of a handful of companies (CK/Hutch, Swire, Dairy Farm,...)

So...pour the Bonaqua out and ask FAs to top up the small Bonaqua with Evian?

CX stressed J won't be served this
Pax complained Wahaha isn't much better than tank water cos Wahaha bottle water failed quality tests in Beijing last year.
