Stopovers and charges

I recently read the STOPOVER rules on a "V" class tix (ex: JFK-HKG) and it reads:

A total of 4 stop(s) permitted for whole journey.
Stopover Hong Kong:
2 Stop(s) permitted. Either inbound or outbound is free of charge.
Stopover Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore:
2 Stop(s) permitted. Either inbound or outbound at a cost of USD100.

I thought I can only "tag-on" one more destination as an extension to my JFK-HKG ticket (sometime for actual need, other times for the miles). Reading these rules makes me think otherwise. Does this mean I can actually visit 3 other destinations besides HKG?

So can I do this: JFK-HKG(w/ stop)-TPE(w/ stop)-HKG-NRT(w/stop)-HKG(w/ stop)-JFK, OR

JFK-HKG-NRT(w/ stop)-HKG (w/stop)-SIN(w/ stop)-HKG-KUL(w/ stop)-HKG-JFK?

How does the extra $100 on Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore comes into the picture?

Any thoughts and experience? Thanks!

There are also routing rules which are associated with the fare. You need to check the routing rules to be sure. But most likely it meant flights connecting via TPE/BKK/SIN, e.g. HKG-TPE-FUK not something like HKG-TPE-HKG-FUK
