Looking at the stories game...
https://www.redhotwinter.hsbc.com.hk/english/stories/
First draw got 10RC (1RC = 15AM to it is not OT for FT this time!)
Limit one a day per cardholder
Clause 35 - only first draw of each day counts regardless of number of cards
And just in case you get around that
Clause 37 - you can only get 500RC from online bonus this time (no more five-figure cash rebates)
I'll just forget about the other stuff and play mannings alone
Treat this as a mannings offer - 30+10rc for $500
Since I'm non premier my cap is 1,200+400+500=2,100rc. Play it using 40 spendings - probably 5x500 per week for 8 weeks
Ignore all non-mannings passcodes. Apply mannings passcodes to the 40 purchase where possible

Finished - HSBC claims all passcodes have been given out

They state they have 100,000 prizes so probably they've all been given out.

Is it worth paying the 1400 annual fee for Fubon just for the miles? Any ideas how I can have it waived?

The other fee is the $250/year redemption fee http://www.fubonbank.com.hk/web/doc/cc_cbp01_e.pdf - this is a once a year unavoidable fee.

What 1,400 fee? It's 1,700 for the Platinum http://www.fubonbank.com.hk/web/doc/sh_feecc_e.pdf (same for Elite http://www.fubonbank.com.hk/Elite/do...form_app_e.pdf) but that should be easily waived.

Just received email from Amex regarding changes to their Gourmet Club for Platinum members (no change for Centurion).
From 1.1.2014, the current 50%/33%/25% offer will only be valid on Monday to Thursday. On Friday Saturday and Sunday, it will be a flat 25% off for 2-12 diners.
I'm sure this will affect many card members eating out in pairs ...

Note Amex has partial refund for unused portion of membership fee due to change of t&c (either of the above)

By time I guess, I'm not sure exactly whether they'll do it by days or by months:

shall we (well, the OP i guess) start a thread titled 2014 credit card offers? I just worry 34 pages and 1650 posts will put off Newbies from searching it...
BTW HSBC tax payment promotion was a targeted promotion. I asked why I wasn't invited and blew up at the customer service. i demanded to be included and 4 weeks later they confirmed they enrolled me...
not an issue cuz I got my CUP card and paid my tax, free ticket to bangkok. wish I knew this trick many years ago.

Newbies should stick to Beginner's Recommendation in the first section of this thread's wikipost (I've updated the list for 2014). When they get settled in with those 5 cards they can search the rest of the thread.
That's quite some tax bill.

HSBC 6X - Not sure. YMMV
I'm dining, but others may not agree.
I only have the following observations:
1. Don't split between categories - choose one catagory only.
2. Find a category not well covered by another card - e.g. for me no Visa/MC card really covers dining on a continuous basis so it's a no-brainer.
3. Remember your spouse/other family members can have different 6X, even though they are your sub. So for instance I issued my mother with a sub USD Visa, registered her for non-mainland overseas, and run all internet transactions through her.
4. As a kicker for (3) you can access all your sub card's RC for miles (AM/KF/Avios).

Earning miles on tax via CCB Dual Currency and HSBC @ 16.67/mile
Will HSBC Premier Mastercard work for this strategy as well? (The thread only mentions HSBC Platinum)
And which CCB card is it best to apply for? The basic Unionpay Dual Currency Credit Card? Or the one with Octopus as well?
Also what's your advice about whether or not to fill in the box that asks for my Asiamiles number on the application form (does leaving this blank make it easier to transfer to other people's Asiamiles accounts?) and on whether to opt for first year free enrollment of Instant Travel Club (I seem to remember reading something about how you can avoid the Year 2 fee if you delay this by two months?)
