Where are CX's cheap J tickets ??

Now that the cheap CX fares from Seoul to Europe / USA in business class (I-class), anybody have any idea where to get good fares from? It was previously costing only approx. US$2200 incl. taxes from ICN-LHR with stopover in HK both ways...

BKK office has recently launched a new promotion which,I think, is rather inexpensive

http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_...R&WAemail=HOME

The fare to Europe is about 90,000 THB (2500 USD) inclusive of tax surcharge.
Enjoy.

Sam7, that is a good set of prices.

Is there a way to turn the itinerary around? For instance, the link you provided will quote me a fare BKK-SFO-BKK, but the fare I want to buy is SFO-BKK-SFO.

Do you have any advice on this?

Wilbur, I'm afraid there is no other way around it as the prices quoted are for passengers starting their journeys from BKK only.

Have a lovely summer break.

Up till this point with the business downturn, CX has not again offers net fares to consolidators or travel agents ( net fares are fares set at a certain amounts, and it's up to the TAs to mark up whatever they want to make off from you ).
If you go to an ethnic TA, they might be able to offer a fare with a discount of 3 or 4% ( since CX offers them only 7%...they will make only 2 or 3% from selling that ticket. They are willing to issue tickets and try to make $30 or $40bucks ).
Point to remember is, if you are going to China/HKG, go to a chinese TA...if you go to the Philippines, go to one of their TAs, etc...
One other thing to remember is, since you are caucasian, they will try to mark up more when they deal with you. Yeap, it's just the reverse discrimination, if you want to call that as such.
Hope this helps.

I don't think being non-asian has anything to do with it. It may be just the language problem. Or finding the correct agency. Try calling CX res in USA and ask them to recommend a good consolidator for you.

Basically any TA in USA can access discounted CX fares (if any). I currently know that CX will discount up to 18% for fares ex-USA. You may try booking a one way and then book your return from asia.

Alternatively you may want to opt for other airlines that are not OW... say with MH & TG etc and try for different routings. But if you want OW fares, then be prepared to pay for it...

Currently I know the best fare for J class based on "I" need to bound out from TPE. Pricing around $2500 based on weekdays and low season fares.

Greetings Guy Betsy.
I just check with my sources at Gttglobal...one of the few biggest ethnic consolidators in the US.
When I asked for CX fares LAX HKG in Nov, a slow enough month for travel.
The answer is in FC A fare, CX will give the consolider 2% commission.
For J fare, it's 8%.
What is your source for the sky high 18% discount CX is offering right now ?
I am just plain curious. Thanks. Cheers to our good ole timer on the CX board.

Did you checked using dummy booking? it is on CX .. and CX do fly HKG --> AKL
CX is not stupid enough to give NZ business when they are flying so many empty seats

You do allow to book QF plane if you pay the high fare, CX do not codeshare on others metal for HKG --> AKL
