I don't think so. They use A340s now for CX839.You might get a 77A on 839 if Boeing delivers a new 77W to CX before your return flight.

CX should use 77W on long haul to U.S and CA
i hope will get a 77W on my return too, usually how long does Boeing take to deliver each 77W for CX any idea?
is there a website to check the deliveries for a specific airline ?

I saw a CX 77W inside the Beoing factor a few weeks back. However, didn't they say CX is deferring to delivery?

Perhaps they will receive some more 77Ws first because they could earn a lot of money during July and August as it is the summer holidays for students in HK.They should make up the lost by the profit they make in July & August and by selling the five 777-200s.

Yes, I saw a photo of B-KPK coming out of the factory. (11th 773ER). I think this plane was already in the final stages of the assembly when they said they wanted to deffer deliveries. So they decided to take it.

For the Foot rest, I think I read somewhere they removed it off some 74A?
I asked you about the removal of the footrests in Y a few days earlier. Now I think I know the answer. A friend of mine said that he read sth about that. He said that CX removed the footrests because they are quite heavy and by removing them, the aircraft would be much lighter which would save a lot of fuel cost. He said that Emirates did the same thing too http://www.mynetbizz.com/travelweb/i...n-fuel-prices/

CX also stripped paint off some of their freighters, they are actually planning to do this to all of their frighters http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/gener...e%20New%20ULDs

As for the removal of the footrests, I think CX should add a pocket thing like what Jet Airways does http://www.travelhotnews.com/images/...r/footrest.jpg

this is actually really old news! The Silver Bullets are actually being planned to revert back into the normal paint scheme (as I heard the maintenance cost of going all metal is quite high - + the time it requires to polish etc..) Given oil cost is dropping, it does not make commercial sense the strip of the paint. Actually other carriers who did something like this have also reverted back to the original scheme.

that foot net is what QF had. However from what I heard many people are complaining as it is really flimsy and it breaks even easier than the solid one CX had.

I haven't seen or heard CX new Y had foot nets.Which aircraft did you saw the them having foot nets? I think they would be good even if they break easily. At least you have sth to hold up your legs up during the flight. They are light in weight and they save a lot of money for fuel compared to the heavy footrests.

this is really a sad matter, a small item in the plane can cause a huge difference in $$$ , well but what to do about the soaring fuel price........
i dont blame CX for this
