ADL to LAX in Y

I am trying to price a trip online from ADL to LAX in Nov/Dec for 3 adults, CX appears to be offering the best fare versus QF, SQ and NZ. However if I use the multi-stop option and try to book the return flight from YVR, the price increases considerably. (SQ and NZ allow me to fly out of YVR for little or no differance to/from LAX). Am I better going through a TA rather than CX On-line to price a multi-stop itinerary.

Also, whilst I have flown SQ, I have never flown CX. Can anyone tell me what Y is like on CX to/from North America and if I should choose the 773 operated flights over the 744.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, a TA can probably arrange it, having access to fares that are not on the CX web site. I've never flown in CX Y (or SQ Y for that matter), but have sometimes gone walkabout on both CX and SQ and it looks to be substantially identical. Both have installed new generation Y seats in the entire fleet if I am not mistaken (maybe a few planes left to convert) and these Y seats are a great improvement. QF only has it on their A380s, so you are getting a better seat on CX in Y.
