My PP shows 07/10 exp. So I can continue to use it without fears of sudden charges showing up.
It is actually quite useful when traveling China domestic (we are on vacation in North-East China at the moment), when the international KA lounges are out of reach...

I can think of a good reason to cancel it. Amex has offered me such a high credit limit on this card one day it is going to be the reason for another cc company to deny my application! I guess a viable alternative would be to ask for a lower credit limit...
If you have a long track record of always paying off the balance then I doubt that it will make much difference.
I'm glad I have the PP card, although I've only used it twice so far - once in ANC and once in DUR. I have never seen a case when I would pay the US$27 fee for a guest - it seems that the lounges have pay-in rates which are far lower (for example DUR you could pay in for ZAR90, about US$12, although it wasn't worth even that).
This is OT, but still good info. Dah Sing Bank has issued a Platinum Visa card for Hong Kong residents. Details can be found in this thread in the BA forum:
I think the card has a good conversion ratio to BAEC, and the 8,888 introductory miles doesn't sound bad. The good thing is that this card offers 10% off all bookings on BA (done on a special link which goes to BA's website).
First three years annual fee is waived. I guess you could get this card, use it to get the 10% discounts, and then eventually earn the miles on Asia Miles instead of BAEC?
